VN TIMES STUDENT BURSARY 2017 1. One bursary, of £500 each, is to be awarded to a student veterinary nurse from VN Times in October 2017. 2. The bursary is to be awarded to a BVNA student member who is, at the time of application, engaged in veterinary nurse training in the United Kingdom. 3. The bursary is intended to assist the student veterinary nurse in their training/education to become a registered veterinary nurse, regardless of route to qualification. 4. The recipient will be chosen by two representatives, one from VN Times and one from BVNA. 5. Successful applicants will be expected to complete the studies and training for which the bursary is awarded. If the successful candidate does not use the bursary for the purpose intended, he/she will repay all monies to VN Times. The bursary holder will be expected to make a brief report to VN Times at the conclusion of the studies/training for which the bursary has been awarded. 6. Applicants must have been a student member of the BVNA for at least two months prior to the closing date. 7. The closing date is 31 May 2017. 8. The bursary will be awarded to the successful applicant in October. If the recipient is attending BVNA Congress, they will be presented with a cheque. However, if they are not attending, an alternative solution shall be arranged. 9. Applications should be presented in accordance with the following instructions and addressed to Rebecca Hubbard at the VN Times office, arriving no later than the closing date. 9a. Detail the status of your training, including route to qualification, previous training practices, interested areas of expertise, and planned qualification date. List current training location(s), with dates, giving brief details of present employment, including name of organisation or practice and addresses (attach details) 9b. State briefly your involvement in any activities/studies outside of your training, which has a bearing on your application and veterinary nursing (attach details) 9c. Give a brief outline of the purpose for which the bursary is required, be it for travel, sourcing training practices, course materials, CPD – anything you need to pay for in your training.
