2010 Holiday Sports
Coaching Camps
Knowsley Sport Development are delighted to
enclose details of range of out of school sports
coaching camps focussed on providing fun, action
packed quality activity days throughout 2010 and
2011.
Our courses are designed to provide a learning
experience that your children will want to come
back to time and time again, with new skills,
personal development and lots of fun being the
focus of each day.
All our courses are delivered by fully trained and
qualified staff. Courses will run with a minimum
of 10 and maximum of 30 places as we are
required to limit places to ensure we meet
supervision ratio guidelines. We advise you to
book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

after the closing date for each specific camp.

Festivals
Times: 10am – 3pm daily
The festivals will provide competition for the young people in 5 different sports each being
held on a separate day. Young people will be put into teams on arrival at the festivals and
time will be allocated for training sessions prior to a mini tournament. A minibus will collect
young people from Halewood Leisure, Huyton Leisure and Kirkby Leisure each day at 0930
and drop them back off at 1530.

Costs for these are £5 per day. Confirmation of transport details will be
confirmed with individuals upon receipt of a place on the festival.
Additional Activities
Alongside the courses and camps detailed, there are also opportunities
within aquatics across the borough. These courses will be put on once
there is enough interest.
Rookie Lifeguard – Bronze, Silver & Gold
The Rookie Lifeguard programme is aimed at children from eight years
old and above. The course, which has been designed by water safety
specialists at RLSS UK, is designed to ensure that every child in the
country has essential water skills to keep themselves safe and
knowledge of what to do in an emergency. The programme features
swimming and lifesaving skills supported by water safety education,
allowing participants to enjoy swimming as an activity and, vitally, to
protect their lives should an accident occur in or out of the water.
Snorkelling
The STA Pool Snorkelling Programme is a series of 3 progressive
awards (levels 1, 2 and 3), which are designed to introduce anyone from
the age of 8 to the skills and techniques required for safe and
enjoyable snorkelling in a pool environment. All participants must be a
minimum of 8 years of age and competent swimmers.
Waterpolo
Fun waterpolo sessions open to young people over the age of 8.
Introduction to the skills of the game, along with stroke development,
team play and tactics.
