Participation Requirements • 70% or above in all classes – No Pass, No Play – Will be withheld from competition until passing • Medical Packet – Physical, Consent, Concussion, Cardiac Arrest – Submitted before wrestler allowed to practice • Participation Fee - $150 – Due before wrestler is allowed to compete Equipment • Wrestlers’ Responsibilities: – – – – Wrestling Shoes Headgear Practice Clothes Athletic Shoes • School’s Responsibilities: – Singlet – Warm-Ups *Must be returned after each competition Team Sport • 14 Weight Classes: – 106, 112, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145 – 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285 • • • • Score points as a team – dual and traditional Iron Sharpens Iron Everyone has a role, Everyone suffers together The only sport where you can lose and still be the hero. Merit-Based Sport • No Practice, No Play • Weekly challenge matches • Coach reserves the right to make substitutions based on match situation Weight Management • Weight loss is NOT mandatory • What is best for the wrestler? Medical • • • • • • Injuries – Notify the coach immediately Hurting vs. Injured Athletic trainer 1st for non-emergency injuries Follow proper protocol Active recovery Get back fast Schedule • • • • • October 31st – February 18th Practice Daily 2:45pm – 5:00pm Holiday/Weekend Practice 9:00am – 11:00am 2 Meets a Week – T/R and Sat Thanksgiving Day off, Week off at Christmas Practice Procedures • No Practice, No Play • Daily 2:45-5:00 • Everyone is responsible for cleaning the wrestling room, locker room, and restroom • Practice is CLOSED to visitors Meet Procedures • Dual Meets – 2:45 Practice at Central – 4:00 Shower – 4:30 Depart for competition – 5:00 Weigh-in – 6:00 Wrestle – Bring a LIGHT snack for AFTER weigh-ins Meet Procedures • Tournaments – Meet at Central to check weight and carpool – Caravan to tournament site – Wrestlers are to remain on site for the duration of the competition – Bring LIGHT lunch and snacks Carpooling • We must provide own transportation – $400 in-county, $800+ out-of-county • Carpool to and from meets and tournaments • Out of town driving – no overnights (State) • Caravan from Central to meet site and back again – no stops, no detours Central Invitational • • • • Oldest invitational tournament in Tennessee 1-day tournament (JV match-ups Friday night) FUNDRAISER ALL HANDS ON DECK – Hospitality Room, Concession Stand, Gate Workers, Table Workers, Custodial Arts
