PROJECT J
Augment an Android game with tactile feedback!
Project:
Would a game like fruit slicer be more engaging if you could feel the edges of the fruit as
you sliced it? We hope to discover if this is the case using a prototype touchscreen that
can programmatically modify the friction of the surface (http://tpadtablet.org/).
Responsibilities:
- Brainstorm ideas for the game and discuss design alternatives
- Write code to create the game (integration with code to create the variable
friction will be needed)
- Potential to perform an informal a user study to compare the game with /
without tactile feedback
Skills needed:
- Java programming (particularly knowledge of Android programming)
- Graphics programming (again particularly for Apps / Android)
- Knowledge of hardware (to understand how the prototype works)
