Dear Parents & Student Athletes,
Welcome from The Speyer Legacy Athletic Department!
We are excited that you have chosen to join an athletic team. Athletic success is the
direct result of the combination of effort, teamwork, commitment and
sportsmanship. We believe that participation in sports provides a wealth of
opportunities and experiences that assist students in personal, athletic and
academic growth.
As parents, you also have committed yourselves to certain responsibilities and
obligations, which are outlined in this Athletic Code of Conduct. Your signature,
along with the signature of your student athlete indicates that you understand and
accept those responsibilities and obligations and agree to cooperate with school
personnel in enforcing the code.
When the code is violated, the coaches, parents and administrators will discuss and
determine appropriate consequences.
Athletic Code of Conduct:








I will maintain good sportsmanship behavior both on and off the field.
I will act in a manner that positively represents my school community,
coaches, family and me.
I will display proper respect for our team and the members of the opposing
team.
I will practice tolerance for the differences of others and try to focus on
improvements rather than wins or losses.
I will respect the judgment of my coach and officials.
I will act as a positive role model and encourage my teammates to maintain
enthusiasm and self-control.
I will inform my coach of any and all prior obligations and issues that will
affect my attendance at practices or games.
As a parent, I will not discuss playing time, team strategy, and play calling or
other student athletes.
I have read the Speyer Legacy Athletic Code of Conduct and agree to abide by the
rules and requirements listed above. I understand my responsibilities as a player
and as a parent and further understand that any infraction of these rules may result
in disqualification or dismissal from the sport activities.
