STRATEGO
A new business intelligence tool for microfinance
Stratego is a business intelligence tool designed to improve the strategic
decision making of managers by enabling them to make better use of
available data in order to improve their knowledge of their organization.
Using the latest technologies, Stratego is a highly effective tool that is
flexible, secure and easy to use. It monitors financial institution progress
and can be used to compare several institutions or several periods in
relation to targets set.
By using Stratego, managers are able to analyze the profitability and
performance of their institution, track trends, target areas of operational
inefficiencies and make improvements.
Simplify analysis of results
Consolidate financial data
Facilitate decision making
Improve institutional management
Monitor performance efficiently
Foster good governance
By producing management reports that summarize information and
allow users to make use of that information in a user-friendly
manner, Stratego facilitates data analysis and assists managers in
decision making.
The reliability of the data produced by Stratego is guaranteed by
integration with the SAF transaction software. Stratego extracts
data directly from the SAF database, reducing effort, delay and
potential error. The system is based on a web interface and makes
it possible to go beyond predefined reports with dynamic data
mining.
The reports produced by Stratego have the advantage of being very
light (less than 150 KB per report). Optimizing performance makes
data transfer between various entities easier, an undeniable
advantage

The net profit for a financial cooperative drops in the month
of October. Corrective action has to be taken. Taking the
right action however requires understanding why net profit
has fallen. Was it due to a drop in interest income? Which
sector of activity? In what group of credit products? Was it an
increase in delinquent accounts? Among what type of
clientele? Was there a similar decrease in the month of
October last year? Many questions need to be asked and
answers are required before deciding on the appropriate
response.
