ABOUTBROADENYOURHORIZONS
What:ThiswillbethesecondsummerofBroadenYourHorizonsSummerSkillDevelopment.The“BROADEN
YourHORIZON”skillsdevelopmentsessionswillprovideanopportunityforathletestoworkonspecificskills
overanextendedperiodoftime,inanenvironmentthatpromotesintensity,purposeandvolumecontacts
combinedwithlowathletecoachratio.Focuswillbeonspecificweaknessesofathletesaswellgivingtheman
opportunitytoexpandtheirindividualskillsetand“BroadentheirHorizon”.
Who:Broaden Your Horizons caters to female athletes, specifically those who will be looking to try out for one of
our Maverick High Performance or Pre-High Performance teams next September.
When:Theprogramrunsfor7weeksbeginningJuly4 andendingAugust21st.Thesessionsrun4nightsa
weekMondaythroughThursdayatC.C.MerBleue,6401RenaudRoad,Navan(OrleansSouth).
MondaysandWednesdays7:15-9:30pm
TuesdaysandThursdays7:30-9:45pm
Qualifications,Attributes,Competencies:
- Soundknowledgeofvolleyballtechniquesandgamestrategieswithinyourindividualskillset.Abilityto
identifyelementsofaskillandcorrectasrequired.
- Abilityandconfidencetocommunicatethoughts,ideasinaperformanceenvironment.
- Abilitytoencourageinapositiveway,maintainingthehighestethicalstandards.
Expectationsforthoseselected:
- Providetechnicalsupportforheadcoaches.
- Workingindependentlywithathletesasrequiredingrouporindividually.
- Helpwithset-upandtakedown.
- Runwarm-upandcooldown.
- Aidinmaintainingahighenergyenvironment.
Commitment:
- Willconsideronetofournightsperweekbasedonindividual’savailability.Ideallyaminimumoftwice
aweekwhichallowsforsomecontinuity.
Compensation:Hourlyrateisbetween$18-$22perhourandwillbecommensuratewithexperience.
