Community Input on the Situation Analysis ` Over 150 attendees thus far ` Two additional forums to take place ` Locations include Banana’s Inc, Children’s Hospital, Unity Council, Fremont FRC, Pleasanton Council Chambers, Beebe Memorial, Alameda Health Consortium, Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center and the ECC Conference Room ` ` ` Developing a plan for 2009-2013 Using a national model called Results Based Accountability (RBA) Under RBA, the driving force for planning is selecting specific outcomes to target: What results are most important to achieve? Where can we have the biggest impact? ` ` ` The Guiding Principles are the navigational tool that will be used to make decisions Commitment to Cultural Access, Systems Change, Training and Accountability are woven through out the strategic planning process but are not explicitly described in the situational analysis Community forums have underscored the need to reinforce these concepts and commitments as part of strategic planning 1. Extent of need: the extent to which children age 0 to 5 and their families have needs that are not currently being met 2. Impact on those affected: the degree to which people and communities are affected by the condition/issue 3. Ability to have an impact: whether investments by First 5 Alameda County are likely to have a measurable impact 4. Sustainability over time: ability to have an impact beyond 2009-2013 1. Define potential outcomes – what issues affecting children 0-5 should First 5 Alameda County consider? 2. Summarize the best available information for each outcome. ` Will be used to inform decisions about outcomes to target in the next strategic plan ` ` ` Have we identified the most important issues affecting the health, development and well being of children age 0-5? Does the report accurately present each issue? Does it reflect the best available information?
