2017 COACHES CONTRACT
Mountain View Pop Warner seeks to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only the
fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but also the importance of education in an atmosphere to develop sound mind,
body and character, and having a good time along the way. The general objectives of Mountain View Pop Warner are to
inspire youth, regardless of race, creed or national origin, and to practice the ideas of sportsmanship and physical fitness.
We strive to make the game fun for all boys and girls. Coaches must consistently keep in mind the ages of the
participants. The program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing or cheering days, such as selfdiscipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and good sportsmanship.
With the above goals and philosophies in mind, it is imperative to realize that we as volunteers in a youth program
have many responsibilities. We as coaches and staff of Mountain View Pop Warner understand the obligations and
responsibilities that we must agree to meet:

Read, complete and sign Coaches Application and Contract.
Coaches in violation of the rules may be expected to be suspended.
Attend all coaches meetings or send a rostered team representative.
Attend all mandatory coaching clinics, workshops, and first aid/CPR training. As a representative of Mountain View
Pop Warner and Peninsula Pop Warner, your conduct should be a reflection of the philosophy and goals as stated
above.
Promote and support all fundraisers mandated by the league and help to obtain team and league sponsors. Any
additional team fundraisers must have prior approval by the Board of Directors.
Understand the purchase of any team artifacts or equipment, i.e. jackets, equipment bags, flag, etc must have prior
approval of the Board of Directors.
Require that all participants’ requirements, such as fees, paperwork, physicals, be turned in to the league prior to
August 1.
Hold a parent meeting within the first week of practice outlining Pop Warner philosophies and personal goals.
Responsible for all league equipment that is issued to your team at the beginning of the season. Collect ALL
equipment at the end of the season.
Responsible for moving any player not making the weight requirements to the correct team by the end of the first
week of practice.
Responsible for your team at check-ins at least one hour prior to game time. All coaches must abide by the decisions
of the Weigh Master/Check-in Official without comment. Any issues should be brought up to the MVM Board.
Football Coaches must follow the “Mandatory Play Rule” at every game.
Provide necessary volunteers for every game. Responsible for tracking volunteer hours, as well as ensuring
volunteers sign in and out.
Responsible for game day in set up, clean up, and monitoring the game area.
Be responsible for the conduct of yourself, your coaching staff, team parents, and participants during practice, games
and other events.
No alcohol, tobacco or illegal substances allowed at practice, games or other events.
Head coach will be responsible for the Team Binder to be on the field at all times, including practice and games or
wherever the team might assemble.
Support and promote the “Little Scholars” aspect of Pop Warner, i.e. Scholastics Form completion, Awards Night.
I understand that Mountain View Pop Warner will complete required background check of myself. Should I not pass
the National Pop Warner background check standards, I will NOT be able to be part of the Mountain View Marauder
coaching staff.
I understand that if I do not abide by Peninsula Pop Warner Standard Operating Procedures, National Pop Warner
Rule Book, and Mountain View Pop Warner rules and regulations, I can be relieved of my coaching duties by the
Board of Directors at any time of the season.
