FIELD DAY 2017: Thursday, June 1, 2017

Dear Parent(s),
The 16th annual Field Day at Harford Hills Elementary is approaching us quickly! What is Field Day you ask?
It is a day where your son/daughter will participate in fun-filled fitness activities with other students from his/her grade level.
The following is a list of each grade level and their times:
FIELD DAY 2017 – THURSDAY, June 1st




4th - 5th and Kindergarten grades – 9:15-11:30 AM
BREAK - 11:30 - 12:20 – to prepare for next group
1st – 3rd grades - 12:30 -2:45 PM
Your child will be involved in a lot of outside physical activity (running, relays, etc.). Please have him/her dress
appropriately for those activities... tennis shoes, shorts, t-shirt, etc. (bathing suits of any kind are NOT to be worn). Pay close
attention to the weather as this will also have an effect on your child’s attire. Please apply sunscreen on your child before
he/she leaves for school. Please arrange for your child to bring a water bottle or sports drink. NO glass bottles! NO soda!
Your child should bring no other items.
This will indeed be a fun-filled day for the children and everyone involved! I encourage you to take part in your child’s
activities. I am in need of several trained volunteers in order for the event to run smoothly. I usually need at least 8
parent/adult trained volunteers per grade level. Each trained volunteer will be assigned a small group of approximately
8 to 9 students to lead around to each of the stations. If you are able to volunteer, please carefully read the section below
and fill in the appropriate blanks. Please include your phone number and email address. If you are not a trained
volunteer you may come to observe as a visitor. I will call/email you to confirm your volunteer times. If needed, a
rain date is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7th .
