Flora spent the last three seasons as the Top Assistant coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Mary. During his time at Mary he was able to recruit All-State student athletes from Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Florida
and Arizona as well as All-Region Junior College student athletes from Arizona, Iowa and California. He led all individual
workouts in the spring and fall and helped with the development of Alex Dorr, who is playing professionally overseas.
He also assisted in scheduling, practice planning and managing of team budgets. In each of his three seasons at Mary
the team showed improvement in the win column.
Prior to that, he spent two seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth as an assistant coach. He was able to recruit
All-State student athletes from Wisconsin and Michigan. He assisted in scheduling, practice planning, individual
workouts and camps. He helped with the development of NSIC Freshman of the Year, Brett Ervin. He also helped with
the development of All-Conference and All-Region player, Ryan Rassmussen as well as All-Conference player Jake
Hottenstine. In both of his seasons at UMD the team showed improvement in the win column. Players Hottenstine
and Ervin played professionally overseas.
Flora spent one season as the Head Coach at the University of Wisconsin- Superior, leading the Yellowjackets to the
second most wins since 1978-79 and advanced to the WIAC conference tournament semifinals for only the 3rd time in
school history. For both semesters the team had a GPA above 3.0. The team improved from finishing last four straight
years in the WIAC in field goal percentage defense to fourth overall. The team also improved from finishing last five
straight years in rebounding to seventh, which was +8 improvement from the previous season. Flora also was the
camp director and grew the extended team camp from nineteen to thirty-two teams. He helped with the development
of the school’s all-time leading scorer in steals, assists and three point shots made in a career.
The previous season he was the Top Assistant and Recruiting Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. During that season, the team won the Cactus Jam tournament in Phoenix, AZ, where they defeated two teams that qualified for the national tournament. He recruited two top fifty players from Wisconsin and three top one hundred players
from Minnesota. He also was the camp director and grew the extended team camp from fourteen to nineteen teams.
Flora spent the previous two seasons as the Director of Basketball Operations at NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay. During
his time in Green Bay, he administrated day-to-day operations in the men's basketball program, including videotape
exchange, coordinating team travel and managing that budget, academic monitoring, on-campus recruiting and
scouting reports. Additionally he was in charge of coordinating camps and oversight of team managers and office
workers. During his time with the Phoenix, he helped with the development of the two-time Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year, six players that scored over 1,000 career points, the Horizon League Freshman of the Year, and
six players that had professional careers overseas.
Flora came to Green Bay after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Northern State University, an NCAA Division II
school in Aberdeen, S.D. coached by the all-time winningest coach in NCAA history, the legendary Don Meyer. The
Wolves compiled a 27-6 record in his one season with the team, advancing to the sweet sixteen round of the national
tournament, losing to eventual National Champion Winona State. He helped with development of three All-League
players as well as four 1,000 scorers and three players that went on to play professionally overseas.
He also has additional coaching experience which includes working at Appleton West, Appleton Xavier and Oshkosh
North high schools. While at Appleton West, He helped with a variety of teams. At Appleton Xavier, he was the freshman and JV head coach, leading them to a 32-5 record and winning the conference title in both years. At Oshkosh
North as an asst. coach for former NBA player and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire great Frank Schade, the team
went 19-3.
