5 over 1 mixed-use

DESCRIPTION
PLAN
5 over 1 mixed-use
5 over 1 mixed-use
Up to five floors of residential apartments or condominiums
over one floor of retail, office space, and/or parking. Mixed
use development allows for two or more complementary uses
in a single development. This increases the use of land while
providing on-site services and neighborhood vitality for the
residents.
This housing type is commonly used due to it’s efficient
and economical construction. “Five over One” refers to the
combination of two types of construction, five floors of woodframe (Type V) over one of concrete/steel (Type I).
