It is the leading institution of higher education and one of the main research centers of Kazakhstan. The University is distinguished by the rich diversity of its subject spectrum under offer. It has 14 functioning faculties, 20 research institutes and a techno-park. The University has partnership relations with more than 400 HEIs in 35 countries worldwide. The University is a member of the consortia of two International Networkbased Universities - the Network based University of SCO countries and the Network-based Open University of CIS countries. Since 2010, when our country joined Bologna Declaration we have been working on bringing our educational programs into compliance with European standards, which will facilitate to increase international dimension in our education and advance competitiveness of our teaching staff and graduates by wider opening borders for them. it will provide good opportunity to share knowledge, best expertise and increase recognition. And for the University it will be the stepping stone in establishing cooperation which might lead in the future to the development of joint degree programs and research projects.
