Job Specification Insight Analyst Job Title Insight Analyst Reports to Director of Innovation Directorate Innovation Location British Rowing Headquarters, Hammersmith, London Overview This is an exciting time for British Rowing, the national governing body for the sport of rowing and the GB Rowing Team. Following the development of a new 2015-2024 Strategic Plan, an Innovation Directorate has been formed to lead on new projects and initiatives and drive innovation across the organisation. To help us achieve our objectives, which include providing better support to our existing rowing community and developing new markets and opportunities, we are looking for a dynamic and forward thinking Insight Analyst to join our team. Job Purpose The Insight Analyst’s role will be to provide high quality research to support in-sight led decision making across the organisation; demonstrate the impact of British Rowing programmes; and monitor the achievement of strategic objectives. The post holder will be required to gather data from varied sources (including directly from the British Rowing database), analyse this information and present to relevant internal and external stakeholders. Your background might vary from academic research right through to corporate consumer insight. Sports and/or rowing industry experience is desirable but not essential. Importantly, you will have a strong aptitude for data analysis, a passion for insight led decision making and the ability to juggle numerous priorities and projects, working with teams across the organisation. Responsibilities Provide insight and market intelligence to inform British Rowing decision making. Undertake analysis and interpretation of secondary data from a broad range of sources. Design, planning and delivery of primary research (quantitative and qualitative). Contribute to continued engagement with key internal and external stakeholders on their research requirements and respond to requests for information (e.g. British Rowing staff members, volunteers, committees, Sport England, media/press). Work with teams across British Rowing to ensure that effective insight practice is delivered and that appropriate performance management systems are implemented where necessary. Draw actionable insight and conclusions from research and make recommendations to the organisation’s management based on the findings. 1 Identify key risks and growth opportunities. Present and communicate complex information in a clear and understandable way for a range of audiences both within and outside the organisation. Manage an effective quarterly evaluation process to measure the performance of various teams and their projects and programmes in line with British Rowing’s strategic objectives.
