2016 Senior Rain Policy Rules (Regular Season/Cup Week

2016 Senior Rain Policy Rules (Regular Season/Cup Week/Tournament)
1) All teams must show up at field for games, regardless of how many players are away
and/or unable to play. Inclement weather conditions are called at the field by the
Referee only. Failure to show will result in a forfeit of game, awarded to the opponent.
2) In the event that both teams are unable to field a team with the minimum number of
players (6 plus a goalie) the game will be considered a tie and both teams will be scored
1-1 on the game sheet. The two teams may still play a friendly.
3) In the event a team is unable to field a team with the maximum number of players to
start – 11, the teams are encouraged to play evenly based on the team with the fewer
players (regular season only). Coaches if asked, MAY give players to the opposing
team, they are NOT mandated to do so, and it will not be considered a forfeit, by the
opponent.
4) Should a team start a game with fewer players than a normal start, but other players
arrive over the course of the match, the coach must notify the referee accordingly and
the number of players on the field will be increased accordingly.
5) If a regular season/cup week or tournament game is stopped because of inclement
weather conditions, the following rules will apply –

If a game is cancelled due to weather before it begins or before the first half is
finished, every attempt will be made between the teams/club to have it
rescheduled throughout the regular season and cup week;
The cancellation policy for deciding if a game is complete is that 2/3 of the game
has been played plus 1 minute. This means that a regular game of 90 minutes
needs to have been played at least 16 minutes into the second half for the game
to be considered complete.
Games are only cancelled at the field and at the time of the game; which means
that the first set of games could be cancelled but the second set of games could
be played or vice versa;
If weather conditions do not permit the start of the game, wait 15 – 20 minutes;
If the game/s are cancelled due to weather and wait time has expired, every
effort will be made to re-schedule these games during the regular season;
If the game/s are cancelled during cup week, every attempt will be made to reschedule the games on another field/another night during that week.
If weather conditions do not permit the Tournament weekend to take place, the
entire tournament schedule will be adapted and adjusted for games during the
following week and/or weekend following Labour Day
