Warm-Up – describe a simple warm-up activity before playing Basketball
Simple warm-up activities before playing basketball are side-step, jumping, and running.
For example, before we practiced playing basketball at the gym last time, we ran around
the gym to warm-up and then started off playing basketball in two teams.
Game Activity/Activities
Describe the game of Basketball in detail – number of players, rules, penalties,
how to score (10 lines)
The minimum number of basketball players in the game according to NBA is 10 players
on a team and a maximum of 15 players. Furthermore, only 12 players can be active to
play a game and 10 must be active with 5 starters and 5 reserves, or bench players. If a
team does not have 5 players on the court, the team disqualifies and the other team
automatically wins. Basketball rules are the rules and regulations that govern the play,
officiating, equipment and procedures of basketball and even though there are a lot of
basic uniform rules, some vary exists in different countries around the world. Some of the
original and basic rules are: the ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both
hands, the ball may be batted in any direction and also with one or both hands, and
another rule is the time shall be two fifteen-minute halves, with a five minute rest in
between. Furthermore, since fouls and violations are called live, referees may be subject
to make mistakes on calls. It is also at their discretion as to calling fouls and violations.
Basketball penalties are foul, double dribble, and traveling. An example of violation is
reaching that is a defensive foul that occurs when the defender tries to reach across the
offensive player’s body to get to the basketball. And scoring is by throwing the ball in the
hoop.
