Deliberate Practice Instructions
TEACHER (PGP) & LEADER (DPP) INSTRUCTIONS 1. Please log into iObservation and then hover your cursor over the “Growth” tab and select “Plans.”
2. Click on the “Create New Plan” button.
3. You should now see the “Create New Growth Plan” page. Please note that the “Self‐Assessment” in Step 1 is
completely OPTIONAL but strongly recommended. School District of Palm Beach County
Department of Professional Development 4. Click the rating under “Rate Yourself” that (upon reflection) represents how you personally feel about where you are
with that particular Element. You can do this for some or all of the Elements in Domain 1. Once you have completed the Self‐Assessment, please make sure that you click the “Finish” button at the top right to proceed to the next part of the process. 5. Click the link in Step 2 called, “Select Target Element.”
6. Click on “Configure” for the Element you are targeting for your PGP. Remember, all teachers must choose 1 element.
The Element is teacher selected from Domain 1 (may be selected if not observed in previous school year and/or was observed but not rated innovating). School District of Palm Beach County
Department of Professional Development 7. Set goals for your selected Element. The “starting performance” is where you are at the beginning of the year based
on the previous year’s observations and/or the self‐assessment. The “FINAL goal” is where you want to be at the end of the year based on observations. 8. Once you have configured your selected Element, please click the “Back to Plan” button to the bottom right.
9. Click on the link in Step 3 called, “Develop a Plan for Growth” to identify your Action Plan steps.
10. Click on the link called, “Add a Step” to create your Action Plan step.

Department of Professional Development 11. In the “Describe the Action Step” box you will describe what actions you are going to take to “grow” in your
particular element (ie. Book study, workshop, teaching mentoring, etc.). The “Date” will be when you expect to take this particular action. You may select something from the “Add a resource” if applicable. Once your action step is entered, please click on the “Save Action Step” button at the bottom right. Repeat the process for each of the action steps that you plan to take for your element. 12. Once you have entered all of your Action Plan steps, you can move them around in the order you plan to complete
them by clicking and holding down on the right side of the box and moving it up or down. If everything is the way you want it, then please click on the “Save Action Step Order” button at the bottom right. 13. Please click the “Activate Plan” button at the bottom of the page in order to start your Professional Growth Plan.
