Supplemental Digital Content Basics
Authors may submit supplemental digital content to enhance their article’s
text to be considered for online posting. When digital content (including
figures, graphics, illustrations, audio, or video) is submitted to a journal, it
must be quality checked quickly using the criteria outlined in this document. If
a file does not meet these guidelines, the file should be returned to the author
for resubmission. If the author is unable to provide a suitable file, then the
editorial office may determine if the file will be presented online. It is the
author’s responsibility to provide materials that meet these guidelines. These
guidelines ensure that the digital content can be easily downloaded and viewed
by the reader.
