Stage 1 – “Jump2it” Roadshows
• Roadshows tackle participation and health, and citizenship
issues in an entertaining and interactive manner.
Currently the 2 hour
session focuses on:
• Healthy Eating
• Anti Smoking
• Alcohol Awareness
• Basketball
Stage 2 – “Jump2it” Basketball Coaching
• After completing the Roadshow, each school
receives 6 hours of Basketball coaching.
• Reinforce the messages taught during the
roadshow
• Develop the group’s core skills in basketball
• Identify interest in attendance at local clubs
• To prepare teams for stage three of the
programme
Stage 3 – “Jump2it” Tournaments
• Once schools have received their
coaching block they are invited to
place teams in the
“Jump2it” primary schools
tournament
• Tournaments are staged at a central
Location
• All children will receive a goodiebag
with information reinforcing the key
messages
• The top 4 teams will progress to
stage 4
• Partners are invited to attend
tournament and talk with pupils and
teachers
Stage 4- “Jump2it” Finals
•
Each tournament will culminate in a FINAL
taking place at a Rocks home game at the
Commonwealth Arena in Glasgow's East
End..
•
Four teams will participate on the Rocks
home court in two semi-finals and a final.
Children participating have the opportunity to
play in front of over 1000 basketball fans,
who are always very supportive, given the
family nature of the audience.
•
All schools which participate in the finals will
be allocated tickets for the Rocks game.
•
Partners are encouraged to attend these
events and present the participant with their
prizes, and advertise via pop-up stands and
courtside boards
Stage 5 – Winner's Ceremony
•
Finally Rocks players accompanied by a
community coach will visit all of the
schools who participated in each of the
finals. During a school assembly the
player will present the winning school with
a video of there winning game and there
shield.
•
The player will then stay in the school to
sign autographs and have photographs
taken with the pupils of the school.
•
Schools will have the option to invite
parents to take part in the assembly and
celebrations.
•
Partners will be present at this stage and
local and national press will be invited to
cover the event

Stage 6 – Clubs
• Work to create links from
Jump2it program to other sports
activities and current basketball
programs
• If there is no provision the
coordinator will work with local
partners to build a new program.
• The new programs first priority is
to link and enhance excising
provision where possible.
