Tournament Structure:
The tournament will be run over a 1 day period. It will run in the format of 3 qualifying rounds, a
Semi-Final and the Grand Final.
Starting stack:

$1000 in tournament chips per round.
Table Limits:

All tournament tables will have a minimum of $10 and maximum of $500 bet per hand.
Qualifying structure:
 (Up to) 4 tables of 7 players will be randomly assigned tables and seating positions.
 Each table will play through 4 x 4 deck shoes of cards.
 At the end of the 4 x 4 deck shoes, the player from each table with the highest value of chips
will advance through to the semi-final at 18:30 (approximately).
 In the event that the players in the last hand played, more than one player holds the higher
value of chips; those players will play a further shoe or shoes to determine the outright
winner.
 In the event that an insufficient number of participants yield less than 4 tables, then the 4th
semi-final qualifier will be selected by means of the highest value chip stack remaining
across all tables from that round after the initial table winners have been selected. This
applies in the event of multiple tables also until 4 qualifiers have been selected.
 The semi-final will comprise of 14 players, 12 from the qualifying rounds, and 2 wild cards.
Should a qualifying round be cancelled then additional wild card entrants will be drawn.
 Wild cards will be comprised of essentially a second chance draw, for any players who failed
to make it through to the semi-finals. We will draw these players randomly at the
conclusion of the 3rd qualifying round (once all other finalists have been chosen). If a player
won’t be able to attend the semi-finals, then their position shall be forfeited, and another
player will be selected to be a finalist. The semi-final will comprise of 2 tables of 7 that will
play 4 x 4 deck shoes.
 At the conclusion of these shoes, the 3 players on each table with the highest value of chips
or last 3 remaining players by means of elimination, shall qualify to go through to ‘the
Grand-Final’ played straight after. Comprise of 6 qualifiers from the semi-final and 1 Wild
Card drawn after the semi-final.
 The grand-final will comprise of 1 table of 7 that will play 4 x 4 deck shoes.
 In ‘the grand final’, the 7 finalists shall play 4 x 4 deck shoes. At the end of the shoes, the
player with the highest value of chips, or the last player standing, shall be crowned the
tournament winner.
Blackjack Tournament Rules, Regulations, Terms and Conditions


























The following rules and regulations are in conjunction with Country Club Tasmania and the
Tasmanian Gaming Commission Blackjack Rules. These are available from the Cash Desk if
required.
Entry fee is $50 (per round), open to the public.
100% of the entry will be retained for the final prize pool.
Table and seat assignments will be distributed on the day of play. This will be by random draw, no
requests or changes permitted.
The start time of round 1 is 14:00 with the second round to follow.
The start time of round 2 is 15:30 (approximately) with the third round to follow.
The start time of round 3 is 17:00 (approximately) with the Finals to follow.
Registration will close 10 minutes before each round
Players are to arrive registered to the tournament area at least 10 minutes before the start time.
An equal number of players will be assigned to each table, if possible.
Where a player does not take an allocated seat at the specified time as nominated by the
Tournament Director;
- An amount equal to the minimum wager will be deducted from the allotted
bank of the player competition chips for each round of wagering in the first
shoe, until that player takes the allotted seat.
- A similar deduction will be made for each round of wagering of the second and
third shoe if that player has still not taken the allotted seat. If the player has not
taken the allocated seat at the commencement of the fourth shoe, that player’s
position will be declared cancelled. The player’s fee and right to remain in the
competition will be forfeited.
No entry fees will be returned for late arrival, the player is responsible for knowing the start time
and location.
All tournament tables will be no smoking.
No written or electronic aids are permitted during the tournament round. No cell phones or
communication devices are permitted, iPods, headsets etc.
Round 1 consists of 4 tables with 7 players per table (28 total players). Number of tables and
players per table may vary depending on the total number of participants.
The minimum number of players for each round will be 7 players. If a round is cancelled due to
insufficient players, additional wild card entrants will be drawn to compete in the semi- finals.
The top player with the highest chip value on each table will progress directly to the semi-final. The
semi-final will be held at 18:30 (approximately).
The semi-final shall consist of 2 tables of 7 players. The 3 players with the highest valued chip
stacks from each table shall progress through to the grand-final, to be held straight after.
The grand-final shall consist of 1 table of 7 players.
The grand-final winner will be the player with the highest value of chips after playing all hands. 2nd
place will be the player with the second highest value of chips, third; third highest etc.
With the exception of the grand final, in the event that in any round players are eliminated all at
the same time before the end of the round, refer to 22.6.2 of the Blackjack rules.
For a tie position in 'The Grand Final' there will be no playoff. The payout for the two or more
qualifying positions will be combined and equally split between the tied positions.
During all rounds of play, all players will begin with the same value of chips as each other. $1000
non value chips per round. No exchanging of chips between players is permitted.
The tournament chips have no monetary value and must be returned after each round.
Each player must participate in each hand of a round, if they have enough chips for the minimum
bet. If they cannot place the minimum bet then they are considered eliminated.
Each round will begin with a newly shuffled 4 deck shoe.



































All cards are dealt face up; players cannot touch the cards at any time. Players are responsible for
showing clear hand signals indicating the action they want to be taken when it is there turn.
Players have up to 10 seconds to make their betting decision when it is their turn to act. Failure to
act will result in the minimum bet being placed from their stack, $10.
Dealers will pay bets in the denominations they feel are appropriate.
Players can split any pair up to two times for a maximum of three hands, excluding Aces.
Double downs allowed after a split, double downs on two cards only permitted.
No partial doubles or splits.
No double bets (slips) allowed.
No mystery bets or secret wagers allowed.
No double down allowed on a Blackjack or a soft 21.
Aces can be split only once and receive one card only.
No Draw permitted on a Blackjack, soft 21 or hard 21.
Blackjack will be paid at 3/2 odds.
Minimum $10 bet required per hand.
Maximum bet per hand is $500, not including double downs or splits.
All bets in increments of $10 only.
Insurance will be offered when the dealer has an Ace showing.
Once a bet has been placed inside the betting area, it will be considered the player's final bet and
cannot be altered. No chips can be added or taken away (i.e. no string bets).
Players will be drawn at random for table and seat positions. The starting point of box 1 will be the
betting position to the dealers left and box 7 to the dealer’s right, from the dealer’s perspective
moving in a clockwise fashion.
The hand with the marker will be the first to place a bet; this player will also be the first to receive
a card. After each hand is complete the next player in the clockwise rotation will receive the
marker and thus be the first to bet and first to receive a card. Moving from left to right (Clockwise)
from the dealers perspective.
If a player was due to make the first bet and they were eliminated then the next player on the
clockwise rotation will make the first bet and receive the first card.
All chips must be kept on the table in full view at all times. Tournament chips can only be played at
the tournament table during the contest. All chips must be stacked separately and to a maximum
height of 10 chips, according to colour/denomination.
Chips cannot be removed from the table for any reason.
Players may not leave the table once the round has begun.
Each player can bet only in their designated betting area (box).
Players may not be coached, or conduct conversations with outside parties while rounds are in
progress.
Players must follow the dealers instructions at all times.
No player will be permitted to play on another player's hand or an empty betting spot.
In the event the tournament is cancelled, all entry fees will be refunded.
Contestants must be at least 18 years of age. No winnings paid to anyone unless over 18 years.
All protests must be handled at the tournament table before the players leave the table. All
protests not settled during the round are null and void once the round is completed.
A player is disqualified from play if they violate any of the tournament rules or conditions.
An entry fee shall not be refunded to a player who is disqualified from a tournament.
Casino Management has the right to change Casino Promotions without notice at any time.
In the event of a dispute over any tournament related matter or dealer error, the decision of
Tournament Director is final.
Should a prize winner consent to having their photograph taken, they consent to having their
name and photograph published in any form of media and agrees to participate in any reasonable
promotion requested by the Promoter, without additional reward.
