Dear Parents,
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend a special pre-k event on Thursday, May
19, 2011. That’s the day for Pre-K at Play, when Baltimore opens its doors to all of
Baltimore City Public Schools’ pre-k students.
All City Schools pre-k students will go on a field trip to a cultural, educational, or
historical institution in our wonderful city, followed by a picnic lunch. Pre-K at Play is
part of City Schools commitment to programs that give students engaging experiences to
build knowledge in fun and motivating ways.
The day is not just for students! You are invited to join the field trip and take part with
your child. All parents who are able to attend will receive a copy of Childhood Wonders,
a special book from National Geographic, full of stories, drawings, songs, and great
learning activities to explore with your child at home. Each child will also receive a copy
of the book 1,2,3 Baltimore to commemorate the day.
City Schools teachers and pre-k staff look forward to sharing this day with you and your
child.
