Role Profile Coordinator Context Every Child CQ is a social innovation initiative seeking to make long term systemic change to a range of issues facing the children of Central Queensland. It is based on a collective impact approach that aims to address deeply entrenched and complex problems, build upon individual and community strengths and facilitate whole of community engagement in efforts to improve life outcomes for all children in Central Queensland. Position overview The Coordinator is required to help Every Child CQ achieve its ambitious mission through managing day-today communications, administration, community engagement, program management, planning and data analysis tasks. Responsibilities Lead and undertake tasks that progress, support and enact the Every Child CQ priorities. Key responsibilities include: Coordinate research and other activities with partners to minimise redundancies and align strategies and actions, including conducting individual outreach, engagement, facilitation and education. Build and maintain professional relationships with community partners and stakeholders and facilitate innovative collaboration to progress the goals of Every Child CQ. Develop, maintain and implement the Every Child CQ Program Plan, which outlines objectives, projectbased activities, engagement methodologies, timelines and milestones, resource allocation and utilisation, priorities and measurement functions. Develop an engagement strategy and modify it as new needs and priorities emerge. Maintain understanding of current research on social innovation including collective impact initiatives, the social service delivery environment and be aware of implementation challenges, to develop comprehensive solutions and innovative responses. Effectively communicate the objectives of Every Child CQ to communities, industry and potential partners. Plan and manage the logistics for hosting community events, action group meetings and other activities relevant to the promotion of the Every Child CQ’s goals. Oversee the development and implementation of mainstream media, web and social media strategies. Work with the Board to identify potential funding sources and investment partners and track all funding and investment outcomes including allocated funds/resources from partner organisations. Coordinate actions with related projects and relevant coalitions to maintain an understanding of the current landscape of local and regional activities, and integrate that work into ongoing planning and evaluation. Create and manage summary/progress reports for the board, investment partners and external audiences. Coordinate and maintain performance measurement and relevant reporting. Develop and maintain a register of community partners, stakeholders, project leads and events. Reporting relationships The Coordinator will be accountable to the Every Child CQ Community Leadership Board and refer operationally to the Chair or other nominated Board Member. Essential capabilities The Coordinator must be committed to the purpose and approach of this initiative. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: A minimum of 3 years work experience working with people, including one or more years of proven community development, program management and coordination experience. Ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including board members and executives. Proven advanced project management skills and the capacity to supervise staff and/or volunteers. Ability to work autonomously in an unstructured environment, as well as take directions. Proven strong analytical, research, critical thinking and facilitation skills. Excellent written and oral interpersonal and communication skills, and Access to, or be able to quickly establish, a network of relationships with a cross-sectoral range of stakeholders in the local or regional area. Desired capabilities: Experience in a start-up environment. Familiarity with the local area and focus of the initiative. Experience in fundraising or grant submission writing, and Commitment to, and understanding of, collective impact concepts. Location The position will be based in Rockhampton and some travel will be required throughout the Central Queensland area. A current driver’s licence is required. Version 1 effective January 2017
