Your computer must have the following software
installed:
– A modern web browser: Internet Explorer version 7/8 or
Firefox version 3. Firefox is available for download here:
http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
– The latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader including the
plug-in for whichever browser you choose to use. Adobe
Acrobat Reader is available for download here:
http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
– Your computer should be connected to the internet via
broadband

Selecting a Template

Advert: Creation Screen Part 1
Select a headline from the
list. You can alter the headline
and type your own text once you
have chosen. If you change your
mind and want to pick a different
headline – just delete all the text
in the box and you can choose
from the list again
Check this box to reverse the
colours of the headline text and
background. E.g. green text on a
white background instead of
white text on a green background
Select an image to appear on the
advert from the list. You may only
choose one
Advert: Creation Screen Part 2
If you decide to include a ‘flash’
on your advert – check this box
If you check the box – additional
options are available: you may
now select a flash to show
beneath the headline. There are
several flashes of differing
colours, with and without text
Should you choose a blank
‘generic’ flash – use this box to
add promotional text.
NB: DO NOT chose a flash with
text AND add your own text. Both
text items will be shown and the
results will not be pretty!
NB: If you add more text than fits inside the flash, it won’t be
shown. Write to length: there is no automatic text size scaling

Add text to your advert here. You
may make portions of the text
bold or italic and even add bullet
points using the tools shown
below the text box
Check this box to show the
Greendale logo on this advert
If you have supplied Greendale
with a copy of your logo, you will
see this box. Tick it and your logo
will be placed on the Ad.
Finally: click
here to preview
the advert
Add your address and contact
details – this may be already
populated if you have supplied
these details to Greendale
NB: NEVER paste text into any box on this screen from
Microsoft Word – it may cause layout errors on the advert
Advert: Preview
After a brief pause, you will see
the screen shown on the left.
Depending on the web browser
you are using you will get a
message asking if you would like
to open or download a ‘PDF’ or
‘Adobe Acrobat’ file. Select ‘open’
NB: it is important to be patient at
this stage – please do not
‘refresh’ this page.
NB: If you are using Internet Explorer- you may see this text at the top of the page:
Click the text shown above and a menu will appear: select ‘Download’ to preview
your advert.
Advert: Preview/Print
Depending on your computer’s setup you will
either see the preview PDF displayed in a new
browser window or in Adobe Acrobat Reader
This document is intended purely to serve as a
preview and is not suitable for commercial printing.
NB: If some of the text you have entered is not
showing on the preview – it is likely that you have
entered more text than can be accommodated
within the template; if you need to experiment –
you can return to the advert creation screen in your
browser by clicking ‘close this window’ in the ‘Step
1’ section on screen and amend the text. You may
repeat this process of previewing and amending
the advert for as long as you wish until you are
happy with the appearance of the document.
Once you are happy with the document – close the preview and
return to your browser – follow the instructions in Step 2 to
produce your finished – print ready advert PDF document
Other Templates: Lectern Cards
Select a manufacturer from the list – this
will show a list of images you may
choose.
There is no further content to select on
this template – click “Create Preview
PDF” and proceed as with previous
templates.
Other Templates: A5 Price Cards
Select a manufacturer from the list – once you have
chosen – the main image list will be populated
Select an image from the list – once you have
chosen – the range name and main text associated
with this image will be automatically inserted
You may alter the text in these fields if you wish but bear in mind that the text shown relates to the
product shown in the image
Other Templates: A5 Price Cards
Leave this box unchecked if you only wish to
display one price
Enter a price (without a £ sign – this is added
automatically)
Select whether to display your own logo, the
Greendale logo or no logo
Check this box if you wish to indicate a price
reduction
Enter a current price (without a £ sign – this is
added automatically) this will be shown under
the word ‘now’
Click “Create Preview PDF” and
proceed as with previous
templates
Enter a ‘was’ price (without a £ sign – this is
added automatically
