Quick Start Game Rules

Instructions for the ProCoach ‘Brilliant at the Basics’ Game
What is the ‘Brilliant at the Basics’ game?
This is not actually a game and it is not a contest. It is a sweepstakes in which you earn
entries through your activities and then have an opportunity to win cash prizes as names
are drawn from a hat. The money for the prizes comes from an entry fee you pay to
participate in the sweepstakes. Ninety percent of all entry fees go back in the form of
prizes; 10% will be donated to our ProCoach charity of choice which is Kiva. Click here
to see the ProCoach members activity on Kiva since 2011. You can join the ProCoach
members group or send money to Pam at any time to participate in this charity.
Purpose
The purpose of the game is to support you to consistently use the ‘basics’ of the
ProCoach Success System weekly process so that you achieve your goals faster than ever
before. These basic weekly components are part of your current ‘Become Brilliant at the
Basics’ Success Factor. They include just four things: The Top 3 Priorities, Doing What's
Hard, Cleanups & Completions and The Week in Review. The other areas of the Weekly
Planner are useful but these four are “the basics.”
Timeframe
The Brilliant at the Basics game takes place over 11 weeks, starting on Monday, January
18 and ending on Sunday, April 3. Each week begins Monday morning and ends Sunday
evening.
How to register
In order to participate in the Brilliant at the Basics game you must submit an entry fee of
$20 cash to ProCoach which we will distribute as prizes. We cannot accept credit cards
for your entry. You can give us cash, mail a cheque or send your entry fee by e-transfer.
Please call Pam at 604-983-8051 or email [email protected] if you have any
questions about entering.
Instructions and Scoring
There are three areas in which you can earn points. Every point you earn in the game gets
you one entry in the draw.
AREA #1 - CREATING A PLAN
In our experience, using your Weekly Planner to create a plan for the week each and
every week is one of the most valuable things you can do. Points are awarded in this area
as follows:
 Review your current Quarterly Plan: Your weekly action plan is intended to
move you consistently towards the achievement of your priorities including your
Quarterly Plan. You will earn one point each week for opening your current
Quarterly Plan and simply reviewing it. An easy point to earn but it is important as
it brings your focus back to the commitments you made for the quarter.
 Create a plan for the week: Since we are focused on becoming brilliant at the
basics, we want you to understand the ‘basics’ of making a Weekly Plan. There are
only three sections of the Weekly Planner you need to fill out at the start of the
week to have a strong foundation: The Top 3 Priorities, Doing What's Hard,
Cleanups & Completions. When you fill in these sections you have truly set
yourself up for a great week and you earn 5 points in the game!
AREA #2 – FOLLOWING THROUGH
Creating a Weekly Planner is extremely valuable. In fact even if you never look at it
again during the week, you are likely to be far more focused and do a better job
working on your high priority items simply because you created a plan. However, it
obviously makes sense to actually DO what you said you would. For this reason we
are awarding “Follow Through” points as follows:
 Completing your Top 3 Priorities for the week: one point/entry for each priority
completed to a maximum of three points/entries for this section.
 Completing your “Doing What’s Hard” item: One point/entry
 Completing your “Cleanups & Completion” items: One point/entry for
completing all the items you listed in this section.
AREA #3 – THE WEEK IN REVIEW
There are many reasons to complete the Week In Review section. For one thing, what
you focus on increases. Also, when you become aware of your progress it increases
your momentum. And noting your successes, acknowledgements and gratitudes
increases your confidence and sense of well-being. In this section you can earn
points/entries as follows:
 Completing the Progress and Successes section: one point/entry.
 Completing the Acknowledgement section: one point/entry.
 Completing the Gratitude section: one point/entry.
NOTE: Don’t give yourself points in this section until the end of the current week when
you have fully completed your Week In Review and are ready to turn the page and make
your plan for the next week.
Scoresheets
Player On-line Scoresheet: At any point during the week you can go to your personal
Player On-line Scoresheet located on the ProCoach website and update your score for the
week. Simply click on the check boxes for the items you have completed and the system
will award you points and update your score to the Master Scoresheet. The maximum
number of points/entries you can earn in a week is 14.
Sweepstakes Master Scorecard: This scorecard shows the status/entries earned for all
ProCoach members participating in the game. It is updated automatically when you save
your Player On-line Scorecard. Members who have not entered any scores into their
Player Scorecard will not be visible on the master sheet.
Prizes
2
Our members have requested that we have two separate prize pots – one for members in
British Columbia members and one for Alberta members. The total money collected from
entry fees in each area will be distributed as follows. Ten percent will go to the Kiva
charity and the remaining 90% will be returned in prize money for participants from that
area. The first prize in each province will be at least $150 with additional prizes
determined based on the funds available. The draw for winners will take place at the next
ProCoach Quarterly Seminar in your area. You do NOT have to be present at the
Quarterly Seminar in order to win.
Making it work
Remember that the real purpose of the Brilliant at the Basics game is to support you to
develop such a strong habit of using the foundational ProCoach tools that you ALWAYS
create a plan every week for the rest of your business life. Why wouldn’t you?
If you feel stuck, have questions or need support at any time please contact Pam at the
ProCoach office. She will ensure that we take care of whatever you need.
Good luck and enjoy. May you have a productive quarter and win big in the draw!
