In the conversation with Aravot.am, political scientist Gagik Hambaryan
referring to Kim Kardashian’s visit to Armenia and the noise around her,
said, “I am surprised at the people who being far and devoid of from
morality are speaking ill and talk idle about Kim Kardashian. Now, this
lady is the owner of the popular reality show in America. She is an
individual known to the American Media world among the high class and VIP
persons. Now, this person has decided to come to Armenia and, roughly
speaking, make a PR for the Republic of Armenia with her face. Can you
imagine how many hundred million dollars Armenia’s government authorities
would spend to publish materials about Armenia and the Armenian Genocide in
European, American and other continents’ press?
During Kim Kardashian’s 3-day visit, almost all popular international
media, tabloids and e-sites had referred to Kim Kardashian’s visit, at the
same time, referring to the history of Armenia and the Armenian genocide.
Is it bad? You may also hear that Kim Kardashian is coming to Armenia to do
a PR for herself. People who think that Kim Kardashian is coming to do a PR
for herself have a limited brain. Kardashian could go to Ibiza island, to
the Canary Islands, Hawaii islands and getting to the beach was enough for
her doing a PR. Do you know how may million followers she has on the
Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites? The number of her
followers goes beyond 80 million.”
According to the political scientist, only the fact that the Turkish and
Azerbaijani media are on nerves because of Kim Kardashian’s visit to is
already a rejoicing fact. “Only, it is amazing that we are saying things
addressed to this lady what the Turks are saying. Let’s say this lady is
photographed naked or her photos are found in the “Playboy”. Do you know
how many thousand figures are photographed for the “Playboy”? Now, should
we say that they are immoral? Hundreds of media representatives have
arrived in Armenia for Kim Kardashian. Willy-nilly by some, the so-called
self-styled Ombudsmen of morality, more people in the world know Kim
Kardashian than the name of the country of the Republic of Armenia. I’m
sorry to say, but it is a fact. We should do everything for the
internationalization of the Armenian Genocide so that the same Cherilyn
LaPierre Sargsyan, the famous Cher, comes to Armenia, Charles Aznavour
comes with the media representatives, Irina Sargsyan comes who is known by
the name Irina Allegrova so that the Russian media would be filled with
this type of news and articles.
We should have compelled that Philippos Grigoryan who acts under the name
Philip Kirkorov would come. We showed our upset to him, so to speak in
quotations, the Bulgarian ethnicity, but we are doing everything to keep
them stay away from us. Whereas, we should do everything to bring them
back, and roughly speaking, to use them. How many several million dollars
we were to give to the German “Bild” newspaper, let them open and see what
popular European media have referred to Kim Kardashian’s arrival. Writing a
small article in the “New York Times” costs 3-4 million dollars. Can you
imagine how many millions dollars Azerbaijan renders? Do you see the
Azerbaijani ads over “Euronews” and CNN? Without spending a penny, we fill
this gap by Kim Kardashian. We did not have that much money, rather say, we
have, our rich do not know that the country achieves success with the help
of ads.”
The political scientist once again reiterated that the Armenian celebrities
should not be pushed off. “Kim Kardashian is called a porno star only for
the fact that she once posted photos or videos, they probably do not know
the real porno-starts. Popular Italian porno-star Cicciolina, who was the
most relevant figures in the respective film genre, was a member of the
Italian Parliament. Now, let’s say that Italy is a state of immoral because
immoral and porno stars have a seat in the parliament. We can illustrate
many examples of this kind, we should not insult and offend people, thus,
we push them off.
Indeed, I would be very happy to see the Republic of Armenia so powerful
with financial capacities and our country is recognized by Garni-Geghard
and our historical monuments or values, but no … The Republic of Armenia is
known mostly through the Diaspora – Charles Aznavour, Henri Verneuil,
George Deukmejian in the US, who was the Governor of California. If our
nation is recognized by the individuals, we should not throw mud on them.
We should admit that we have a world-renowned chansonnier and world-famous
media figure. Why do we remember that Kim Kardashian was photographed
naked? And why do we not accept that Kim Kardashian’s reality show ranks
the second in America after Oprah Winfrey’s show?”
