In this table I have created in excel I am comparing data between the current top 25 ranked NCAA men’s basketball teams1. Given that this is the time of the year in which the NCAA basketball tournament takes place, being able to properly sort this data could be a major benefit to people who are investing a lot of money on their brackets that they are creating the tournament. I made the columns the different types of statistics being displayed, and I made the rows the team names in order from 1st to 25th. This allows me to be able to sort the teams in order not just by rank, but also by any of the stats listed. I specifically looked more in depth into points per game for each team to see if there was any correlation between points per game and ranking. My results were that there was virtually no trend shown between the two factors. SMU Iowa Points/Game I think that this bar graph is a good way to visualize the correlation between points per game and team rank. It is easy to read the points/game values, and clearly displays any relationship, or lack thereof, between the two inputs. 1 Source: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings
