***The minimum per team will be 9 people (2 being female) If you have more than 9 people than you have to have at
least 3 females on the team. If playing 10 people on the field, 3 of the players must be female***
1. Games will be seven innings, or 1-hour in length, whichever comes first.
2. No walks.
3. A mat will be used for all games. Any pitch hitting the mat is a strike.
4. No Bunting is allowed, automatic out.
5. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated! NO FOUL LANGUAGE, UMPIRE ABUSE OR ILLEGAL PHYSICAL
CONTACT.
6. Coin toss will determine home team.
7. Only one base may be taken on an over-thrown ball that goes out of play or off the field.
8. NO STEALING BASES.
9. Runner may only leave base once the ball has been hit. Only 1 warning per team will be given.
10. Rubber cleats (baseball, football, soccer, softball, lacrosse etc.) are permitted, NO METAL SPIKES
11. No more than 10 people on a field at once per team (3 of which have to be female).
12. Teams must have minimum of 9 people on the field to start the game, but may finish with eight, with at least
two being female.
13. NO DOGS OR ALCOHOLIC beverages permitted! All individuals violating either rule will be asked to leave
immediately.
14. Players MUST BE 16 years of age or older, again NO EXCEPTIONS.
15. Team captains will be responsible for setting up a batting order for their teams, and making sure that the players
bat in same order.
16. Positions on the field may be changed, but the batting order must stay the SAME. If a team chooses one “field”
player per team does not have to bat.
17. No smoking on the field, outside the fences is allowed.
18. HOME RUNS EQUAL OUTS AND $1 DONATION to be paid to the umpire.
19. THERE IS A RESTRICTION ON THE HEIGHT OF ALL PITCHES. THE MINIMUM HEIGHT IS 6 FEET AND THE MAXIMUM
IS 12 FEET.
****NO PETS ALLOWED ON DOWNINGTOWN LITTLE LEAGUE PROPERTY! This is the Little Leagues rule not ours. If you
show up with your pet you will be asked to leave. NO exceptions!
