Potomac Falls High School Statistics and/or Discrete with Mrs. Belin Math 2015-2016 School Year Welcome to Statistics and Discrete Math! Welcome to Statistics and/or Discrete Math! I look forward to exciting and productive semesters with you. In these courses I will be introducing many new and interesting topics and concepts to you. They will be different than most of your previous math classes as you will be expected to READ the textbooks. If you find yourself falling behind, seek help immediately. At some point during the year there may be a need for you or your parents to contact me. Please see my contact information listed below. It is much easier and faster for me to reply to an email you’ve sent. I will update my web page on a regular basis please check it often. I place a strong emphasis on responsibility and respect. Everyone is respected as an important member of the class and is expected to treat others in the same manner. My expectations of you are: • Be Prompt - Arrive before the tardy bell, sit in your assigned seat, and start the warm-up. Assignments are due on the date requested and grades will be lowered for late work. ‘Extra Credit’ will not be used so please don’t ask for any. Homework will rarely be assigned. Rather, you’ll receive a classwork assignment nearly every class. These classwork assignments will be the basis of your formative grade for the class. There will be an optional cummulative • Be Prepared - Come to class with all the necessary materials including a pencil. • Be Productive - Follow all instructions and put forth your best effort for the entire block. Don’t pack up until told to do so - we work until the bell. I will dismiss you, not the bell. • Be Polite - Respect yourself, others, and your surroundings. Always use good manners. I am sure you will put forth your best effort to achieve the highest level of success. I am excited about the great year to come! A+ A+ A+ A+ A+ A+ A+ A+ A+ quarterly assessment.
