ITE Chip Driver Installation
This is an ITE Chip Driver Installation Guide for any IDE devices that have been attached onto the
motherboard before Windows installation. Since Windows would not recognize any IDE devices
without the Driver installed in advance, the chip driver is required for IDE hard drive or IDE CD
ROM devices before Windows Installation.
The following procedures are for Windows only. Notice that 8213F doesn’t require a driver in
Windows.
* For this example, it is demonstrated with installing Window XP in C2SBA+II (IT8212F) with an
IDE hard drive and a SATA DVD Drive.


If you are creating the driver disk under an OS environment, please start from Step 1.
If you are creating the driver disk from the driver CD, please skip to Step 4.
1. Have a blank floppy disk ready.
2. Go to the Supermicro FTP website that has the ITE IT8212F chip drivers.

3. Download ALL the “Files” and “Folders” into the floppy disk. You can now skip to Step 12 and
insert the Windows Installation CD to install the driver.
4. Insert the Supermicro driver CD into the DVD Drive and make it the 1st boot priority in the
BIOS boot order list.
5. Press any key when you see the “Hit any key within 5 seconds to continue boot from floppy”
message.
6. Three options will appear. Choose the one that applies to your configuration and press Enter.
7. You will enter a wizard for creating a driver disk. Select the correct ITE chip driver to be created.
8. Select the correct Operating System to be installed.
9. Press “N” if you want to create only ONE floppy disk driver.
10. Exit the wizard after the disk is done creating.
11. You will go to a DOS prompt after you click exit. Restart the system <Alt + Ctrl + Del> and
insert the Windows installation CD.
12. In the Windows installation prompt, press <F6> when the message “Press F6 if you need to
install a third party SCSI or RAID driver…” appears at the bottom after booting up form
Windows installation CD.
13. Press “S” to specify additional device when the see the prompt below.
14. Select the correct Windows and press <Enter>.
15. Press <Enter> after Windows loads the files, the prompt in Step 13 will appear again.
16. Press <Enter> one more time to exit the prompt and you can continue with Windows installation.
