Strategy Defined | Accenture

MARK PEARSON, SENIOR MANAGING DIRECTOR
AUTOMOTIVE, INDUSTRIAL, INFRASTRUCTURE & TRAVEL
Mark Pearson:
I would define strategy in the context of
what we do in Accenture: it’s about really
targeting value for our clients.
And our focus on value has to sit right at the
heart of everything we think about, as we
work with our clients every day.
Our vision is to be the pre-eminent strategy
consulting working at the intersection of
technology and business.
What I look for in a new team member:
intellectual rigour; someone who’s got the
intent and interest in exploring complex,
ambiguous problems. Somebody who has
both interest and knowledge in what is
happening around the technology space in
the industrial world, and is willing to learn
much more about it.

Just great communication skills. People who
are prepared socially to engage with our
clients. Build, through their own personal
self-confidence, great relationships with our
clients.
So I think what I’d say to somebody who is
considering joining Accenture Strategy, is
“be ready for the challenge”: to help your
clients identify and deliver new sources of
value”.
I personally would identify with the culture
that empowers me, because this
organization has so many different facets to
it, and has such a strong set of values that
drive the organization forward. Our
stewardship. Our one firm culture. Our
global way of operating.
