Rules Committee
Rule Changes
New Rules
Objective: The rules committee will consist of 5 sitting elected officials, 1
organization president and 4 organization vice-presidents representing each region,
(Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western). Shall a circumstance exist where a vicepresident is not available, the vice-president position maybe filled by the secretary
for the specific meeting.
Meetings: There will be a scheduled meeting to take place during a 10 day period
every quarter. Quarter 1 meeting taking place between January 1st and January 10th,
Quarter 2 taking place between April 1st and April 10th, Quarter 3 meeting taking
place between July 1st and July 10th, and Quarter 4 meeting taking place between
October 1st and October 10th. To make meetings more manageable for all attending
representatives in person, virtual, or a combination of both is an acceptable
standard.
General Guidelines for Rule submission or Change: Any current member of the
AWDTO may suggest a new rule, or suggest a rule to be changed. The rule
submission must be written on the Rule Change/Submission form found on the
AWDTO webpage and may be mailed or emailed to the address specified on the
form two weeks prior to the next scheduled quarterly rules committee meeting.
Shall the rule be approved during the meeting it will take effect during the next
quarter, or a date specified by the rules committee during their meeting. Shall the
rules committee find that a submitted rule not be changed or implemented a request
can be made for the reason of new/change rule denial, via letter or email addressed
to the acting secretary. Shall the submitting member feel that the new/change rule
that was previously submitted and rejected should be repurposed, the rule can be
submitted again prior the next quarterly meeting, however, it must be written with
new justification for re-submittance.
Miscellaneous: Shall a rule judged to be an emergency arise the rules committee has
the ability to schedule a rules meeting at anytime, not in place of their quarterly
meeting, to discuss the rule emergency. If it is found that the rule shall be changed
the rules committee has the ability to implement the rule on any date with the
notification of all active members of the AWDTO.
