QUICK TASK #1 - SETUP DOC (DIVISION OPERATION CENTER)
Division Leader – Choose a Division Leader, if you are the first person on the scene
assume the role. In drills we have seen the group waste time doing redundant tasks
when one person doesn’t act as Division Leader (more details on the back side).
Just do it! When someone with more experienced arrives, hand off the responsibility.
Steps:
1. Choose the Division Leader from the first group of people to arrive. Don’t skip
this step. It makes a big difference later. Wear the Division Leader vest so
people know who is acting as the Division Leader.
2. Remove the setup materials from the shed.
- The 2 boxes are labeled: “START HERE (BOX 1)” and, “CERPP RADIOS (BOX 2)”.
The “START HERE” box contains everything you need to finish this Quick Task.
3. Put out name tags and hang up the check-in sheet clipboard on the shed to the
left of the back door (see picture)
- Be sure everyone signs in and gets a name tag, when it gets busy knowing
who’s available by name will make the job easier and more efficient.
4. Place the sign identifying the Operations Center on the fence in front of {YOUR
EOC}. Sign and tape are in the box
5. Assign the remaining Quick Tasks (in parallel if possible)
