Pratham children say thank you
As a part of their 200th year celebrations, Citibank gave treat to Pratham children by taking them to IPL
matches. The children from Pratham Vizag and Cuttack programs attended matches in their respective
cities. The volunteers along with the children had a wonderful time watching their first live match. Children
had many stories to tell of their experience:

My Name is M.D. Rizwan, Iam Studying 8th std

express my feeling in my words. Because I sit
in the VIP gallery, in front of me so many of
VIP’s and actors are there. And also the city
Bank people provided caps and T- shirts to all
the children it is looking something different
from others, so we felt very happy. And in the
middle of the match they provide a delicious
food to all of us. It was a great pleasure to get
such an opportunity. So I very thank full to city

April 22, 2012: Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, Odisha
“We are thankful to Citi Bank for providing
us with the golden opportunity to enjoy our
favourite sport live. We watched the match
between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata
Knight Riders. It was beyond our
imagination to ever see international level
players at one place. We were treated as
VIPs in gallery no. 1 which was the most
prestigious place to be seated at. We were
the stars that day.”
Biswajit Pradhan Std. 7
“It was the first time we saw an international
game though so many matches are played
at Barabati stadium. We prepared ourselves
to enter the stadium at 4 pm. But looking at
the tight security and frisking happening
there, me and my friends felt anxious.
However, they warmly escorted and greeted
us. It was the best moment of my life to see
so many cricket stars at one place.”
Anil Patra Std. 10
Drawing sheets, markers, flutes, balloons –
we took them all to cheer our favourite
players. When the players used to look at
us, we would show them encouraging
messages and cheer loudly. We had even
colored our faces with paints to amuse and
support the players. One of our friends
Rakesh would scream loudly to cheer and
he did it all till the end as a result he lost his
voice by the end of the match.
