Strategies for EVALUATION
Why do designers
evaluate their work ?
Designers evaluate their work for a number of reasons.
1. To find out how successful their products are.
2. To find out if it is possible to improve their products.
Producers and designers attempt to improve their products continually in
order that they are the most successful products on the market.
Can you think of products that are continually improved?
James Dyson – Dyson company
Jonathan Ive – IMac company

designer that evaluates and
continually improves the products
that his company makes. Not only does
he improve the products but he frequently

advancements to them.

Designers use the following methods to evaluate the
products they design and develop -
1. The response of the customer
2. Testing the product in use.
3. Checking if the product reflects the main
design specification points.
1. The response of the customer
