Projects
WiFi
As it has been established that Three Spires is still awaiting a group decision for a
national supplier to all of their sites, it was agreed that it would be an idea to
understand the technological changes that we may experience in the future that
may impact the requirement for a WiFi provision. AP2017/AC/2/1 DT to
investigate.
DT
Parking Initiatives
David has been advised by LDC the imminent trial will take place at Lombard
Street (Check-in, check-out system) and Bird Street (Contactless and Card
payment system.) There has been no request for monetary support, simply they
have asked the BID to promote the trials to all BID businesses.
Signage
There was some discussion around whether the banners on lamp-posts sits
within the remit of the Attractive City Group or the Marketing Group. If it is being
used to market and promote the City it would seem sensible that this be covered
byteh Marketing Group. Either way, AP2017/AC/2/2 DT to investigate costs and
terms with Bay Media.
DT
Street Furniture
Wayfairing was discussed and it was agreed that AP2017/AC/2/3 DT to
investigate additional quotes and more information form other providers.
Finger Posts – These come under the remit of Visit Lichfield/LDC. The process
they use is that any reports of damage are checked via CCTV and them a claim is
made to their insurers. The process is time consuming. AP2017/AC/2/4 DT to
send photo’s of finger-post damage for follow-up.
DT
DT
Audit of street furniture – carried forward to next meeting as Dave Crump as
unable to attend (see action point list above.)
Other Enhancement Projects
AOB
1. St Mary’s
St Mary’s is going to undergo a significant regeneration project with the
movement f the library in to the same building. This will include external lighting
and signage. St Mary’s has requested BID support for this project and submitted
a business case. A discussion took place concerning the request and it was
agreed that those present would approve support in the value of £10k for this
project, safeguarding the City Centre and investing in a scheme that will generate
additional footfall. As the meeting was not quorate AP2017/AC/2/5, DT to speak
with Brian Carruthers who is not at the meeting to see if he would approve and if
so, create a business case for presentation at the next Board meeting on 22nd
February.
DT
2. Audio History
Adam mentioned that the TIC had a number of audio guides accessed via a
hand-held device and he wondered if this aural history could be made available
via mobile devices. AP2017/AC/2/6 DT to investigate
