As you likely know, Frontier Advisors has been leveraging eVestment Alliance’s global database and
analytics platform for the last couple years. eVestment has become an important component of our
manager research for firms based outside of Australia. It is used by Frontier as a key source of quantitative
investment manager data. This data and eVestment’s tools aid our manager research, search/selection, and
ongoing monitoring exercises.
Importantly, we are now working to embed the database into our Australian-based manager research
process. As such, we strongly encourage all managers to fully populate the eVestment database. Our goal is
to streamline data requests so that we can more heavily rely on eVestment for Australian specific
mandates. This is a win-win for both our organisation as well as asset managers as this will reduce the ad
hoc requests that you receive from Frontier. We would very much appreciate full support and population
of eVestment so we can reduce these requests and instead rely on the eVestment platform for this factual
and commodity type information. We would note that timely and accurate data submission will better
allow us to assess the merits of manager meeting requests and to expedite our ratings process.
We believe that eVestment’s expansion brings tremendous potential for the industry at large by serving as
a central platform to reduce ad-hoc asset consultant requests, thereby reducing the data burden for
investment managers. Please note: eVestment does not charge a fee to submit data.
