Contract for Services
Initial contract
4 days per week, 10am-3pm ie. 20 hours per week.
You will be expected to attend occasional events/meetings outside
of these hours where required, based on a standard overtime
agreement.
The position will be reviewed after 6 months.
Place of work
You will be based at our office at Guy’s Hospital, SE1 9RT.
Occasionally you will be required to attend meetings or help with
events/projects in the local area.
Role
You will report directly to the Director, Robin Pritchard, while
providing support to the Operations & Administration Manager,
Paula Hargadon and Fundraising Manager, Hannah Monteith.
The other members of the team work remotely but are all in the
office at certain times throughout the week. The Operations &
Administration Manager and Fundraising Manager are both parttime (3 days per week). You will therefore need to be a self-starter
who is motivated to work on your own at times as well as part of a
small but dynamic team.
Based at Guy’s hospital, you will also be part of the wider ‘Dimbleby
team’, helping us support the clinical teams at Guy’s Cancer Centre.
The role has 3 elements to it:

Cancer Care Map (60%): we are launching a new online
information website that will enable people living with cancer to
find the care and support services available to them in their
local area. Reporting to the Director, your role will be:
o to keep the website updated to ensure all the content is
up to date and correct
o to manage the database (Drupal) to ensure all
information is correct
o to deal with all enquiries and user issues and liaise with
the Director and the digital team as appropriate
o

to manage the site’s social media accounts, scheduling
tweets and facebook posts, managing replies and user
responses
to liaise with the digital team to provide user data and
reports on a monthly basis

Fundraising (25%): providing office support to the Fundraising
manager, specifically:
o Keeping database updated (Salesforce)
o Sending out fundraising materials to fundraisers
o Assisting Fundraising Manager with distribution of
fundraising materials to local businesses and
communities
o Liaising with volunteers
o Assisting Fundraising Manager with events such as
Walk50 and The World’s Greatest Quiz
o Carrying out local research

Administration (15%): providing general office support to the
team, liaising directly with the Operations & Administration
Manager, specifically:
o Answering all phone enquiries and fielding calls
o Collating post
o Database management – working closely with the
Operations & Administration Manager to ensure the
database (Salesforce) is up to date and produce reports
as required by the team
You will be proficient in Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
and have experience of Salesforce or a similar CRM system. You will
also be an active user of social media. Knowledge of a website
content management system such as WordPress would be an
advantage.
Remuneration package

£15,500 per year, based on 20 hours per week
Overtime/time in lieu as agreed
Start Date
April/May 2017, initial 6 month probationary contract
