Central Canada Coordinator
.4 position. 1 year renewable contract (with potential for multi-year extensions)
In a partnership between Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM), the Canadian Baptists of
Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ) and the Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec
(CBWOQ), this part time position promotes legacy giving within the central Canadian
Baptist constituency through estate planning workshops. The Central Canada
Coordinator will lead the Baptist constituency to understand and act upon good personal
stewardship through estate planning, drafting a will and leaving a gift for ministry.
The LEGACY forMinistryTM Central Canada Coordinator’s main responsibilities are:

Presenting materials through ongoing workshops at individual or cluster-church
seminars/events

Recruiting, training, resourcing and managing constituent volunteers to also
present workshop materials and/or act as information specialists

Maintaining a data base of contacts and action steps on behalf of the Central
Committee

Referring individuals to partner organizations when more detailed information is
required in order to finalize will disbursements

Answering inquiries regarding the program

Networking with pastors, constituents and professionals; contacting potential
donors

Preparing reports for the Central Committee and forwarding contact information
and action steps following workshops / presentations

Meeting with the Central Committee, as required, to further develop the program
and evaluate its effectiveness in the Central Canadian constituency
Overall accountability will be to the LEGACY forMinistryTM Central Committee:

Requirements/Knowledge/Skills:
 Must accept CBOQ’s Core Values (see www.baptist.ca “About Us”)
 Willing to sign off on CBOQ’s Lifestyle Policy
 Good understanding of wills, estate planning and planned giving
 Proven public speaking skills
 Self directed worker, self starter
 Familiar with ministries of local Baptist constituency
 Strong networking skills
 Strong administrative skill set
 Able to travel throughout the CBOQ region
 Conversant with personal financial management issues
 Experience in fundraising an asset
