Volunteer Experience
I have had a lot of opportunity through the Health Wellness and
Fitness Program as well as opportunities outside of it to gain
experience and develop skills related to my area of study and
what I want to achieve.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
By Mark Cormier
In May 2013 Core Fusion relocated to
Mohawk College Fennel Campus in
Hamilton. We have been very fortunate to
welcome many new clients and our future
looks very bright in this city. We are very
lucky to have maintained our Brantford
clients, and provide our service for them at
the Wayne Gretzky Centre in their brand new
dry land training area.
One of our biggest clients this past year is
Volleyball Canada! We have been training
the young athletes who are a part of the
Volleyball Canada Centre of Excellence
program. This program runs Canada wide
and this was its first time being conducted in
Hamilton. We are honored to be the
Strength and Conditioning team to the lead
this elite group.
Since our move back in the spring we have
also added two Mohawk College Varsity
Teams to our client list. We started training
the Women’s Volleyball and Rugby in the fall
and are looking forward to continuing this
training in the New Year. Both the Men’s and
The Health, Wellness and Fitness program
introduced a new course to its third semester
students this year: Living Learning Lab. This
is designed to give students more experience
in the industry so that they know what to
expect once they’re in their respected field.
We were lucky enough to gain five great
students (Eric Cornell, Leah Mcdowell, Adam
Sousa, Stefano Leon De Paz, and Matt
Carmichael) from this program and they all
have done a tremendous job for us all
semester, and we thank them for their effort!
In January 2014 for the very first time we are
employing a Co-Op student to assist with
training, marketing and promotion, and
other administrative tasks. We would like to
welcome Tao Li to the team!
2014 is going to be a great year for Core
Fusion and we would love to help you reach
your goals! Contact us anytime for more
information on our services.
Stephanie Draper has been a tremendous help to our
coaches this past month. While balancing a busy
schedule with Varsity Rugby and a tough class load she
has made time to volunteer with Core Fusion. Thanks
for your all your help.
