The analyses showed that out of 204 CKD patients who were registered in
the outpatient clinic between 2007 and 2009, 55.4% were females while

Distribution of patients according to age
age of the patients was 51.9 + _ 15.7 years with minimum age 17 years and
maximum age 80 years, more than one third of the patients were aged > 60
years (38.7%), and there was no difference between the mean age of male and
female. P value = 0.809 (not significant).

Distribution of patients according of the stages of the CKD
Majority of patients are classified as having stage 3(34.8%), stage 4
represent 19.6%, while stage 5 represents 13.2%. stage 1 and 2 represents
15.7% and 16.7% respectively.

Hypertension is recorded in majority of the patients, 73% of patients have
hypertension but it is not known wither it is a cause or a result of the CKD.

In our study group the patients who were registered in the nephrology
OPD in Tripoli central hospital in the period between 2007 and 2009,
Diabetes is recorded in 56.4% of the study group patient.
