2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The ASG Board reserves the right to modify the order of the day at any time during the meeting. This may include the
removal of items from the agenda prior to their discussion. No topics or items will be added to this agenda, except as
allowed by the Ralph M. Brown Act.

D. Adoption of the Agenda
Vice President Villanaca moved to adopt the agenda, Senator Josefina Magana seconded.
Without objections ASG President Ramirez adopted the agenda.
E. Approval of Minutes
March 10, 2016
Vice President Villacana moved to approve the minutes for March 10, 2016, Senator
Denise Magana seconded. Without objections, ASG President Ramirez approved the
minutes.
F. Public Comment
This segment of the meeting is reserved for persons desiring to address the Oxnard College Associated
Student Government Board on any matter of concern that is not stated on the agenda. A time limit of two
(2) minutes per speaker will be allowed. The law does not permit any action to be taken, nor extended
discussion (Brown Act §54954.2).



Senator Norma Martinez commented on the ASG members t-shirts; she would
like to know when the new board members will be receiving their ASG shirts.
ASOC student, Joshua Ruiz, commented on library making a petition on ESL
teacher, the teacher will be coming to the board and making a presentation.
Secretary Anchondo commented on the recording of the meeting she needs
everyone to please be respectful and keep noise to a minimal due to she needs to
listen to the recording in order to capture the accurate minutes.
G. Unfinished Business
a. Chartering of Clubs (Action):
i. The ASG shall charter the following clubs as official on the Oxnard
College Campus:
1. Entrepreneurs Club
2. Art Club
Vice President reported that Entrepreneurs Club took their information back and
club cannot be chartered at this time.
Senator Lopez moved to charter the Art Club, Senate Chair Windsor seconded.
Without any objections ASG President Ramirez charter the Art Club.
b. Pantry / Meal Tickets: (Action)
i. The ASG Board shall receive an update on finding for initiating a pantry /
meal ticket program on the Oxnard College Campus.
ii.
The ASG may take action on the implementation of these resources.
Senator Conway gave a brief update on the food pantry / meal ticket, she shared
with the board that the food pantry is a lot more effort than the meal ticket. She
will be meeting with the ad hoc committee and give more information in the next
ASG Meeting.
Vice President Villacana moved to table the Pantry / Meal Ticket item to our next
ASG Meeting, Secretary Anchondo seconded. Without any objections ASG
President Ramirez tabled the item.
c. Legislative Report / Updated: (Action)
i. The ASG Board will be updated on which legislature they would like to
push in Sacramento.
Senator Lopez moved to push the Sexual Assault issue in Sacramento, Treasurer
Vazquez seconded. Without any objections ASG President adopted the motion.
H. New Business
a. Training for New / Old Members: (Action)
i.
The ASG Board shall discuss the possibility of initiating funding the
training for the upcoming ASG Board and the current Members.
The board discussed on having training on campus or going away for the new /
continuing board members that will be on the board next year.
VOTE: 8-2-1
Have training on Campus – None
Have training away – Vice President Villacana, Senator Arredondo.
Have training in both places away from campus and in campus – Secretary
Anchondo, Senate Chair Windsor, Treasurer Vazquez, Senator Josefina Magana,
Senator Denise Magana, Senator Conway, Senator Martinez, Senator Mayorga.
Abstention- Senator Lopez
Senator Martinez moved to release the ASG Board Legislative & Leadership Training
for $1,965.00 coming out of the Student Representative Fee Acc # 23086, Senator
Conway seconded. Without any objections ASG President Ramirez approved the
motion.
b. Release of Election Funds: (Action)
i.
The ASG Board shall release the funds for the planning of upcoming
ASG / District Elections.
Secretary Anchondo moved to release the ASG Election Candidate Forum for
$250.00 coming out of the Student Activity Fee Acc. # 23050, Senator Mayorga
seconded. Without any objections ASG President Ramirez approved the motion.
Secretary Anchondo moved to release the ASG General Student Election for $250.00
coming out of the Student Activity Fee Acc. # 23050, Senator Josefina Magana
seconded. Without any objections ASG President Ramirez approved the motion.
c. ASG Involvement in 40th Anniversary Celebration: (Action)
i.
The ASG Board shall discuss and approve their own plans for the
40th Anniversary Celebration.
ASG President Ramirez shared with the board about the mural that the Executive
Members voted on.
Senator Conway moved to take a five(5) minute recess at 3:33 pm, Senator Mayorga
seconded. Without any objections ASG President Ramirez approved the motion.
ASG President Ramirez called the meeting back to order at 3:40 pm.
The ASG board members voted on putting the mural in the exterior of the ASG
building, in the wall behind the ASG’s President’s office and in the bottom of the
mural have it read “Sponsored by 2015-2016 ASG”.
Vote 10-0-1 Motion passes.
d. Textbook Affordability Act Resolution: (Action)
i.
The ASG Board discuss and approve their own resolution for the
textbook affordability act.
Secretary Anchondo moved to table Textbook Affordability Act Resolution for our
next ASG Meeting, Vice President Villacana seconded.
Senate Chair Windsor objected.
Vote 9-1-0 motion carries.
I. Reports
a. “Gabby Report”
Advisor Rodriguez has no reports at this time.
b. ASG Officers Reports
 Treasurer Vazquez reported on the PBC committee, school is facing a debt of
about $300,000, no staff will be affected with this debt.
 ASG President Ramirez reported about Academic Senate discussed the $300,000
hit of debt on this campus but we are not as bad as our sister colleges, the District
is planning on moving location but not confirmed yet. He would also like to
encourage board members to commit to their responsibilities, finally, General
Assembly will be from April 28th to May 1st in Ontario CA. need members who
are interested on going to please fill out the field trip form and turn it in as soon as
possible.
 Senator Lopez reported on adding her SAAM event update. She also needs to
meet with Game committee after the meeting to share information.
 Senator Martinez reported on an event of Women’s History Month “One women
one book” that will be held today at 5:30 pm in the Student Lounge.
 Senate Chair Windsor reported on the Lanyards that she was assigned in the
Executive committee meeting.

e. Event Updates
i. 5 de Mayo:
Secretary Anchondo reported on the event will be taking place on May 4th
from 11am to 2pm. Working with Senator Mayorga on getting Aztec
Dancers, Baile Folklorico, and Mariachi, we are catering Tacos Don Chente
and other food items, we will start at 10:30 am and have a piñata for the kids
and give them goody bags, we are going to try to encourage everyone to
dress in Mexican independent attire.
ii.Asian Pacific:
Secretary Anchondo reported on working on the event trying to get a hold of
a key note speaker and working on getting the food. Event will be in the
Student Lounge on May 10.
iii.Women History:
Senator Denise Magana reported on women appreciation event happening on
the end of the month, will need everyone’s help on the day of.
iv.SAAM:
Senator Lopez reported she is confirming the guest speakers and purchased give
away items and is looking into purchasing food. Will be finalizing her video and
presenting it to the board members.

J. Announcements
a. The Constitution Convention will take place on Friday March 18, 2016 from
9:00 am -12:00 pm.
b. The next Regular Meeting will be held on March 31, 2016

The ASG President Ramirez adjourned the meeting at 4:27 pm.
