HO HO HO…it’s that time of year for our annual after-hours, familyfriendly celebration!
We will be hosting Santa’s Workshop at our schools for our Play
School families and staff. All siblings of enrolled Play School children
are welcome as well so bring the whole family. There will be games,
prizes, arts & crafts, light refreshments, and a picture with Santa
Claus. We hope everyone can join us for this celebration!
Santa’s Workshops will be held:
o Saxony ~ Saturday, December 5th from 9:00a-11:00a
o Legacy / Stoney Creek ~ Sunday, December 6th from 3:00p-5:00p
*Both Legacy and Stoney Creek’s party held together at The Play
School at Legacy (14454 Community Drive, Carmel, 46033)
o Arbor Village ~ Saturday, December 12th from 9:00a-11:00a

COMMUNITY CALENDAR
KANS FOR KIDS
We have already collected a lot of canned goods and other non-perishable foods for LOCAL food pantries and
families in need during the month of November. We will continue to collect food through the month of
December as well. The class with the highest collection average at the end of this month will win a class party in
the New Year. Collection boxes are located in the front entryway and marked with each classroom’s name so
make sure to find your child’s specific classroom box. Thank you again for your generous donations and keep
them coming!
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child was a huge success this year! We were able to send 173 boxes filled
with toys, candy, school supplies, personal notes, and hygiene items across the world to less fortunate children.
We truly are blessed to be able to bring such joy to a young child who does not always receive a gift around the
holidays. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your generosity and kindness this holiday season.
COATS FOR KIDS
We have been collecting coats last month and will to donate them as long as they continue
to come in. These were delivered to LOCAL FAMILIES in need and over 75 new and used
adult and children’s coats have been donated this far! We have more to deliver this week, too!

INCLEMENT WEATHER
It is The Play School’s policy to remain open during winter weather. We do NOT close when the local elementary
schools close. We will close if local government officials deem the roads too unsafe to travel. This winter we will
notify parents and faculty of The Play School’s decision to close if that situation arises through:
CDA ANNOUNCEMENT
Congratulations to Ms. Chenoa Spurlock at our Noblesville Play School location! She earned her CDA (Child
Development Associate) last month. WAY TO GO MS. CHENOA! We are so proud of our hardworking teachers
but we especially like to highlight them when they accomplish a major professional and educational goal such
as obtaining their degree. Congratulations and THANK YOU for your dedication to the children at The Play
School!

families two weeks of “tuition free
vacation time” annually from August to
August. You must notify your director of
your child(ren)’s absence in advance and it
must be a full week at a time (no split
weeks). Vacation weeks cannot be used
toward your required two week notice if
withdrawing from our school. Vacation
slips are located in the front entry.

“WINTER BLAST” CLASSROOM PARTIES!
We are excited to host our annual “Winter Blast” classroom
parties again this year! These will be held at all locations on
Thursday, December 17th from 3:00p-4:00p (Toddlers and
older). The teachers will have fun and engaging winter and
holiday-related activities going on throughout the day. Signup sheets for items you can donate to your child’s classroom
to help out with the activities will be posted soon. As
always, you are never required to contribute! We are always
most grateful for any donations you wish to make. Please
see your child’s classroom teachers for any specific
questions about the day’s schedule and
activities. Thank you again to anyone who
is willing to donate any items to this fun
day!
SCHEDULE CHANGES
When needing to make a change to your child’s regular schedule,
please touch base specifically with your Center Director. We require two
weeks’ notice to withdraw from the school, go from full-time to parttime, or to change days for part-time families. We are always happy to
accommodate a change in your family’s set weekly schedule if existing
enrollment and ratios will allow it.
