Hidayet Türkoğlu is the first Turkish basketball
player in NBA history. He was born in İstanbul in
1979. He spent his childhood in İstanbul. He went to
Bayrampaşa Yıldırım Primary School. He met with
basketball when he was a student. At those times,
he went to his brother’s basketball training and the
team trainer discovered him. He was selected for
the school team. He was very successful. So, he won
a scholarship to Private Çavuşoğlu College. He went
on playing basketball both school and club team of
this college until he was 15. Also, he continued his
education there and had many successes. He joined
in Efes Pilsen in 1996 and played four seasons with
the team. He was selected by the Sacramento Kings
with 16th pick of the 2000 NBA Draft. He got
married with Banu Ergür in 2005.
As a conclusion, Hidayet Türkoğlu has

at the age of ten and has played
professionally since 1996. Since 2000 he
