GAME PLAN: Follow these simple steps to raise $100. Step 1: Ask

THIS YEAR, WE HAVE A HUGE GOAL AND A LOT TO PROVE. WE HAVE PROGRESSIVELY INCREASED THE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE'VE RAISED FOR
RELAY SINCE IT FIRST STEP FOOT ON CAMPUS, 8 YEARS AGO. LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME, WE HAD RAISED AROUND $85,000. RIGHT NOW, WE
ARE AT $50,000. IT IS TIME FOR US TO STEP UP OUR GAME AND FUNDRAISE NOW SO THAT WE CAN BEAT OUR NUMBERS LAST YEAR.
***WE REALIZE THAT ASKING PEOPLE FOR MONEY IS DIFFICULT. BUT REMEMBER, RELAY FOR LIFE IS A FUNDRAISING EVENT. PEOPLE ARE
NOT GOING TO BE UPSET IF YOU ASK FOR DONATIONS TO HELP FIGHT CANCER. THE WORSE THAT CAN HAPPEN IS THAT PEOPLE SAY NO.
GAME PLAN: Follow these simple steps to raise $100.
Step 1: Ask your parents to donate $25 dollars each Step 2: Ask your roommate to donate $10 Step 3: Ask 4 friends to donate $5 Step 4: Ask your boss (or a club member) to donate $15Step 5: Donate $5 to yourself-

SEND EMAILS: One of the easiest ways to raise money is to send out emails through the ACS website. It really is the
easiest things to do because the website provides templates and it allows you to import your contacts. E-mails are
PROVEN to be the easiest and fastest way to generate donations. We've had many people send out emails and get
donations right away that not only helped them reach their goal, but surpass it! One member raised $300 sending FIVE
emails, another raised $1,200 sending 30 emails. SO EASY!
SELL FOOD ON BRUINWALK: College students are always hungry; selling food on BruinWalk is EASY. An elementary
school was able to make $200 in one day selling baked goods! Make sure to get a food permit before selling food. Get a
food permit on Thursdays from 2pm to 4pm in Kerckhoff Hall Room 105 at least FIVE DAYS before you want to sell food.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Host a pancake breakfast on a Saturday morning outside your apartment. All you can eat
pancakes for $5 a person; all you need is 20 people to attend and you’re golden!
RESTAURANT FUNDRAISERS: Many restaurants, both on campus and off, have fundraisers that students can host. Bring
a flyer in, and a certain amount of each bill can go towards your Relay team.

DRIVE YOUR CLASSMATES FOR CASH: Offer to drive your friends around town Thursday nights and Weekends. Or, offer
to drive your apartment//dorm dwellers to the grocery store (Costco anyone?). Ask for some gas money and a small
donation. Take the time on the road to tell them your connection with cancer and why you work towards this cause.
SELL LUMINARIA BAGS: It is always more likely for people to want to donate if they are getting something in return. For
those donors who have lost a loved one, offer to give them a Luminaria Bag to decorate. In person sales are $5 each bag
and $10 online.
SELL TANKS: Relay For Life tanks have officially been released! All the money from tank sales can go towards your team.
Ask your team captain or team captain coordinators for more details on how you can sell tanks.
CAR WASH-Take advantage of the warm weather! Buy some car soap, grab some friends, put on a bathing suit, and
wash some cars! At $10 per car, all you need is 10 cars to reach your fundraising goal!
As usual, please feel free to contact me with any questions//concerns//advice//ideas. I am here for you.
