JOB PURPOSE:
To undertake, and maintain records of, the inspection and repair of fixed assets in
children’s play areas, skate parks, parks and playing fields, and supervise the
activities of the Inspection and Repair Fitter (Green Space fixed assets).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

To be responsible for the inspection of equipment or other fixed assets in
children’s play areas, skate parks, parks and playing fields as directed by the
Horticultural and Cemeteries Superintendent and to record formally the
outcome of these inspections.

To be responsible for the planned and ad hoc maintenance and repair of
equipment or other fixed assets in children’s play areas, skate parks, parks
and playing fields.

Supervise the activities and performance of the Inspection and Repair Fitter
(Green Space fixed assets).

To supervise contractors engaged on the repair and maintenance of Green
Spaces equipment or other fixed assets.

To be responsible for the safe keeping and proper operation of the fleet, plant
materials and equipment allocated to carry out task.

To ensure that all appropriate health and safety measures and precautions
are taken in accordance with the service area risk assessments and method
statements and to report any damage and defects to the Horticultural and
Cemeteries Superintendent

To report to the Horticultural and Cemeteries Superintendent all accidents,
incidents and near misses to yourself or third parties that occur whilst carrying
out your duties and to assist with any investigations and/or insurance claims
GENERAL DUTIES
To understand the Health and Safety responsibilities which fall within a
manager’s role and the personal Health and Safety responsibilities within the
HASAWA 1974.
To ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with Equal
Opportunities legislation and Best Practice.
