The development will not cause any material harm to an interest of
acknowledged importance and will not conflict with Barrow Borough
Local Plan Review 1996-2006.
Mr R. Lucas
1.
Felling of mature beech tree subject of Tree
Preservation Order 1990 No. 12 at North
Lodge, Abbey Road, Dalton-in-Furness as
shown on plan number 2007/1122.
This consent is valid for a period of 2 years from the date of this
consent and therefore expires on 26th September, 2009. The tree
must not be felled after this date unless a subsequent application has
been approved in writing by the Planning Authority.
Reason
In order to allow the situation to be reviewed if the tree is not felled
within the agreed timescale.
2.
A replacement tree, the species and position of which must be agreed
in writing with the Planning Authority, must be planted within an
appropriate period to be agreed in writing with the Planning Authority
prior to the commencement of the development.
Reason
In the interests of the visual amenities of the area.
Application refused on 27th September, 2007
Mr A. Treverton
1.
Erection of a detached garage as per planning
permission 2006/1216 but with minor
elevational changes and with 1.8 metre high
railings and gates to boundary in place of stone
wall at 19 Dalton Lane, Barrow-in-Furness as
shown on plan number 2007/1016.
The boundary treatment represents an alien and intrusive feature to
the unacceptable detriment of the setting of adjacent listed buildings
and of the character of the locality generally. The adverse impact is
exacerbated by use of an over fussy and elaborate design. Approval
of the proposal would thereby conflict with the duty imposed on the
Council by Section 66 of the Listed Building Act and be contrary to
Policy D21 of the Barrow Borough Local Plan Review 1996-2006.
Application approved on 28th September, 2007
Dr L. J. and Dr P. S. Williams
Extension to provide entrance lobby, ground
floor w.c. and first floor en-suite shower room at
Stank Villa, Stank Lane, Stank, Nr. Barrow-inFurness as shown on plan number 2007/1106.
The reason(s) for the grant of planning permission are as follows:
The development will not cause any material harm to an interest of
acknowledged importance and will not conflict with Barrow Borough
Local Plan Review 1996-2006.
