Modified Coach Pitch Rules
1. All children must play!!!
2. Offensive team bats until either 3 outs are recorded or 5 runs are scored (innings 1 & 2).

3. 3 pitches by the coach. If unsuccessful, then the Tee is used until the player hits the ball in fair
territory.
4. Final Inning, teams may get more than the max number of runs as stated above if the following
happens: Runners on base score before the umpire call times. For Example, bases loaded and
batter hits a double to the outfield. All runs that cross the plate will count in the final inning
prior to the umpire calling time. (as described below)
5. The coach should pitch over-hand.
6. All coaches are allowed on the field.
7. Team helpers will be allowed on the field at the coach’s discretion.
8. Defensive infield positions are: catcher, pitcher, 1st base, 2nd base, shortstop, and 3rd base.
9. Catchers must have on all of the catcher’s gear (Chest protector, helmet/mask).
10. The defensive player listed as “pitcher” cannot leave the pitcher’s circle until the ball is hit.
11. If pitcher position retrieves the ball from the batter, he/she must throw the ball to first base.
He/ she cannot tag the runner. This is a first base only rule.
12. Defensive outfield positions are: left field, left center, right center, and right field.
13. All players must rotate field positions each inning.

14. All players at bat, waiting their turn at bat in the batters box or running the bases MUST be
wearing a batting helmet.
15. No leading or stealing bases. Run only upon a hit.
16. Base runners CANNOT advance on an overthrow.
17. If the ball is hit into the outfields, the base runners CAN advance until the ball is thrown towards
the infield. Once the fielder has attempted to throw the ball towards the infield, the runner
must stop at the closest base. “Time” is called by the field monitor or coach.
18. 3 Inning Game, 1hr.
19. Games must start promptly. Your game will end at scheduled time.
20. All children should line up and shake hands with opposing team immediately following the
game.
21. No player may wear any type of metal objects. No jewelry.
22. No officials will be used.
23. A field monitor will be used.
24. Sliding is ok.
25. Sneakers or cleats can be worn. No Metal spikes
26. No wooden bats, No Bunting or throwing the bat (1 warning for team and then next thrown bat
is an out)
27. Scores will be recorded and posted.
28. This is a fun and instructional league; please keep that in mind when advancing your runners.
29. All players receive the same trophy regardless of record.
