Portfolio – a digital web service
Portfolio is a web service where students, teachers and researchers at the University of
Gothenburg can give a presentation of themselves by posting pictures, films, texts/PDFs
in galleries in a digital portfolio. Students can log into and edit their portfolios via their
GUS account. Teachers and researchers log in via their X account.
Instructions
1. Log in with your GUS account (username/password) at:
http://www.gu.se/portfolio
2. Click ”EDIT PRESENTATION”. Upload a presentation picture and input information about your telephone number(s), e-mail address, and homepage. Also
write an introduction about yourself. Fields left blank will not be displayed. Save.

3. Click ”ADD NEW CONTENT” to add a picture, film, audio file or PDF in the gallery.
Added material will be displayed in chronological order, with the most recently
added material displayed first. You can sort material by typing digits in the "Sort
Order" form. Note that there is no limit on the amount of material you can upload.

4. Click ”EDIT” under the miniature image to open the editing view – the dialogue
box will open in a new window.

5. The different fields in the editing view are defined differently, depending on the
media type used. The example below shows a film link to GU's Flash server.

6. Pictures and PDFs can be uploaded under the tab ”Uploaded files” by clicking
”Upload new file”. The tabs ”Categories” and ”Mass upload” are not used. The
drop-down menu consists of the following keywords/formats:


Picture – uploaded picture shown in the large picture field and as a mini
picture in the gallery for pictures and PDFs. Recommended
width/height: 1200 pixels. Max file size: 5 MB.
PDF – Select ”PDF” to upload a PDF file. Max file size: 1 MB.
Example uploaded image: To upload an image for the large picture field and a
mini picture, enclose a picture with a height or width of 1200 pixels.
Example uploaded picture and PDF: To enclose a PDF with a picture for the
large picture field and a mini picture, enclose both a PDF file and a picture with a
height or width of 1200 pixels.
