Top Left) PLS High Pine Picasso capped the show as the Park Saddle World Champion for the second year in a row. Owners Paul and Joy Scala joined Jenny and Jim Taylor and the dazzling chestnut following the unanimous victory. Bottom Left) It was a crowning victory for the Sebring family and CBMF Crown Prince as Harry Sebring drove the Copper Beech owned and bred stallion to the Park Harness World Championship. The crowd-pleasing son of Serenity Masterpiece and Firewind Diva earned the unanimous win for owner/breeder Joy Scala. Present Tense was third here with Diane Conrady at the lines of the cadenced chestnut for David James Walker. This one had everyone already looking ahead to Friday night’s grand finale, the Park Harness World Championship. PERFORMANCE ARENA Repeat winners and large classes started off the day in the Performance Arena. Jan Ward and the 2012 Hunter Pleasure Ladies Amateur World Champion, MSV Miss Belle GCH made a repeat win from last year to claim the Grand National title in the Hunter Pleasure Ladies Amateur Mare qualifier. Reserve in the competitive class of 19 went to Andrea’s Radiance and Jillian Marks in the irons for Gail Camara-Marks directed by Melissa Morrell. Five elegant mares entered the ring to vie for the Grand National title in the Western Pleasure Youth Mare class. It was another repeat victory as the team of Cherrydale Melania GCH and Lauren Osborne were once again trimmed in silver and blue. They made the winning ride for Glitter Farms LLC and trainer Jonalyn Gwinup. o Alixandra Mitchell rode Kathleen Pierce’s pretty four-year-old Kinzu Bitter Tears to the reserve finish directed by Rick Gervasio. A talented class of 23 answered the gate call for the Amateur Hunter Pleasure Ladies Amateur Gelding Grand National qualifier. Taking the blue Orrwoods Special Edition and Inga Johnson carried home top honors from the 17-entry Youth ribbon and medallion back to Western Pleasure Stallion/Gelding competition to the Arcola Farm banner. Robert Thomas drove his TFM Skywalker to the reserve honors. Joni Kuhn and her pair Nordby Cassie’s Dollar and STJO Cinnamon’s Rocky were the Gamblers Choice Multiple winners. In the afternoon, two entries earned honors in the Jumper II competition. Jumper I winner Mallory Mignot and CBMF Follow Your Heart bested Sarah Ackermann and CMA Taxx Return to win the class. Caroline Hornfeck captured the AMHA Gold Medal in the Hunt Seat Over Fences equitation competition aboard Severn Hill Good As Gold under the direction of Kate Holloway. AMHA Dressage Gold Medal winner Bonnie Tom earned reserve in the Hunt Seat Over Fences Gold Medal Finals aboard the appropriately named Regency Claim Jumper. Kate Holloway and Severn Hill Exotic Dancer earned the next two Grand National victory passes, starting with their win in the Low Working Hunter II class and following up with the Low Working Hunter Under Saddle class. Twelve Oak’s Bay Eagle and Lainey Key were reserve champions in the Low Working Hunter II class for owner Kathryn Clarke. Jennifer Crafton directed RWD Direct Class to the reserve honors in the Under Saddle Class for Tricia Waclena. Jamie Michelle Clarke and Phil’s Ridge Harry Potter were back in the winner’s circle with the Grand National Working Hunter I honors. Bonnie Tom and Regency Claim Jumper claimed the reserve streamers. Kate Holloway and Severn Hill Exotic Dancer were back with their third victory pass of the afternoon, this time besting a large field in the Hunter Hack Finals. Jennifer Crafton directed RWD Direct Class to another reserve win here for Tricia Waclena. The final session of the day in Sport Horse Arena featured the western trail competitors. The day ended as it began, with many time Grand National and World Champion trail horse sweeping the Western division just as they did the English division this morning. Megan Welch and RG Regency Chester were just unbeatable in the world class division, winning both the Open and Amateur competition to cap a great day for Grunden Ranch. Reserve honors in the open class went to Megan Motter and Fortune’s Valentino. Emily Carlson and NF Nikulas were reserve amateur champions. The attention-capturing team of CBMF Street Legal and Sarah Miner made their presence known on victory lane. They added the Ladies Classic Pleasure Geldings blue to the Taylor River Farm banner. Bellerophon and Steven Handy returned to Oklahoma in tricolor fashion as they performed for the Amateur Gentlemen’s Pleasure Driving victory directed by Lynn Peeples. The Performance Arena was the place to be on Tuesday morning as Meet George Jetson and Jenny Taylor lit up the ring. They made the unanimous victory pass in the 6-entry Four-Year-Old Park Saddle Mares/Geldings for Lora Lyons. Molly Remondino and Skywarrior capped the session with the seventh unanimous win of the morining as they topped an entertaining field of ten in the Youth Park Saddle Finals directed by Susan Morey. David Rand met the unanimous champions in the winner’s circle for the photo and victory pass preparations. Jack and Nicoria carried the beautiful red rose blanket down victory lane to the thunderous applause and affection of their loyal fans. Reserve in this star-studded field for the second year in a row was RLH Night Strike and Richard Hawkins. Tim Roesink trains the expressive gelding for Richard and wife Linda who also bred and raised the son of And The Beat Goes On and RLH Simply Striking at their Mountain Hawk Farm. The highly anticipated AMHA Hunt Seat On The Flat Gold Medal Finals brought Saturday afternoon to a dramatic close. Each of the 13 qualifying riders from an initial field of 40 performed rail work for the three judge panel then were called back to individually execute the pattern. The top-ten ribbon winners were announced in descending order as is customary in the AMHA Gold Medal Finals, starting with tenth place team and finishing with the champion. As the ribbon winners left the arena, the air thickened. By the end, there were just two who remained – stable mates from Crystal Farms. With a quick embrace the two wished each other the best and waited for the announcer to make the call. The Reserve Finals Champion aboard Delawares Night Life GCH was Kaylan Hayman. Greeted in the winner’s enclosure by Crystal Farms trainer, Mary Cartlton, Kaylan proudly rode off with the Reserve honors back to Battle Creek, Mich. With a strong performance on the rail and a flawless pattern, Kaecee Dollard and Sunny Acres Sneek-A-Peek CH were called out for the unanimous grand prize and the AMHA Hunt Seat Gold Medal. Closing the Matinee session in style, Kaecee was the picture of perfection as she exited the ring to an appreciative round of applause. What began with a unanimous victory for Michi- gan ended with a unanimous victory for Ohio, pleasing both sides of the traditional college football rivalry on a Saturday for the first time in history. Jenny Taylor is money in the Park Saddle World Championship. The last three times she has entered it, she has won. In what was described by the judges as one of the greatest driving classes they had ever seen anywhere, it was an amateur driver who took home the top prize. Showing on back-to-back nights, The Noblest showed all the heart and determination of the Morgan breed, digging deep to earn this highest of honors with Paul Brisco at the lines. Owned by Tom and Teri Brisco, The Noblest finished off an absolutely fairytale week for Gerry Rushton and Stacy Hennessy. The Amateur Pleasure Driving World Champion just last night, The Noblest had twice been the Reserve World Champion in this class. Paul Brisco more than held his own in what has traditionally been the domain of the professional trainers, making a smart drive to be the first amateur to win the Open Pleasure Driving World Championship in time immemorial. Also putting in a brilliant, Saturday night-style show was Optimus Prime GCH. The East Coast Pleasure Driving Reserve Champion at New England, he continued his grand career with a second straight Reserve World Championship. The Amateur English Pleasure Reserve World Champion with Dawn Fire last year, he was reserve tonight with Phil Fountain at the lines for Peeper Ranch. By Futurity French Command and out of Erotic Dancer, Optimus Prime was the 2011 Amateur English Pleasure World Champion and the 2010 Four-Year-Old English Pleasure World Champion as well. PLS High Pine Picasso and Jenny Taylor celebrated a fantasic finish as they earned the Park Saddle World Grand Championship for the second year in a row. They made the unanimous victory pass for owner and breeder Joy Scala. PERFORMANCE ARENA Saturday afternoon brought the performance arena competition and equitation world championships to a close. Sixteen 14-17 year-old riders answered the gate called for the Saddle Seat Senior Equitation World Championship. In the preceding days Cameron Kay earned the AMHA Saddle Seat Gold Medal and Mattie Frances Willard topped the UPHA Senior Challenge Cup. Today’s intense competition for the tricolors came down to a battle between these two talented and hardworking young ladies. After determined rail work and an exceptional pattern it was the AHMA Saddle Seat Gold Medalist, Cameron Kay who was named World Champion with CN’s Stylish Debut. It was another crowning achievement for the Crystal Farms team. Mattie Frances Willard capped her sensational season and her junior exhibitor career as the Reserve World Champion. The senior world championship for the Saddle Seat Classic riders was next to enter the ring. After completing a rock solid pattern, the elegant Lauren White was called out as the unanimous Saddle Seat Classic Senior Equitation World Champion. It was another memorable victory for White’s partner BJL Ransom and instructor Nikki Rae Woodworth. Showing poise and perseverance, Robyn Davies expertly guided her FCF Fandango through rail work and a pattern to be named the Reserve World Champion. Having won a Western Equitation World Championship and a UPHA Junior Challenge Cup Championship just a day earlier, Victoria Walz entered the ring with the confidence to win it all again on Saturday. With an excellent pattern and beautiful rail work, Victoria trotted her way to the winner’s circle as the Saddle Seat Junior Equitation World Champion. Anne Judd and Adam Sherman directed Victoria and Sarde’s Sinful to their second set of roses to cap a fabulous show. For the second year in a row the elegant and talented Jenna Nordberg was named the Reserve World Champion. She once again paired up with MEM Star Power for the tricolor ride under the Lingering Hills banner. If not for the lack of cantering in the class, most would Cameron Kay completed an amazing week as the Senior Saddle Seat Equitation World Champion aboard CN’s Stylish Debut. Mary Carlton, Elizabeth Thomas, Ellen Beard and Chris Lasky completed the winning Crystal equitation instructors team.
