Players take turns to cover a
pair of numbers that add to
the total for the game.
The pair of numbers must be
in squares that are joined by a
side, not joined by corners.
Once a number has been
covered, it cannot be covered
again.
The last player who is able to
cover a pair is the winner for
that game.
Decide upon the number total
for the game to be played.
Choose 20, 30, 40 or 50.

Do you want to see kids go further than just practicing basic addition facts?
Pairs to 50 can do that for you.
This is a fast paced game that challenges children to find pairs of numbers that total
20, 30, 40 or 50.
All You Need To Do Is –
Print the Board Game on card.
Get some markers
Then give them to 2 children
or if you are a parent, you can play with your child.
This Board Game can also be enlarged on a color copier to create a larger playing
board.
Suggestions for use –
Teachers there are many different ways to use the Making Math More Fun Board Games in your
classroom.

Team against Team - This game can also be copied onto the board. The class can be divided
into 2 teams and students can take turns to represent their team.

Fast Finishes – These games are an ideal activity for children who finish their work early.
Games can be stored in a box or on a shelf and children who finish their work early can find a
partner and play.

Class Tournament – Hold a class tournament by involving each child in a game. The winners
play against each other in the next round and then continue until a class champion is found.

Activity Centers - This game can also be part of a Math activity center or an activity for a Math
rotation.
Parents, you can help your child to develop their skills by using math games in different ways.

Find Different Opponents - Your child can play against a brother or sister or play against you.
•
Game a Night - Play one game per night and watch your child develop their math skills as they
play. Keep a tally of who wins each night.
